Cut to the prison. Wang is strapped to a table/chair that resembles a dentist's chair, although a lot less comfortable. He's flat on his back, spreadeagled.
ELROY'S VOICE: You've done a very bad thing. ... What's your name? Hmmm?
Elroy comes close to Wang's head.
ELROY: You can call me Elroy-L-one-three-two-seven. I was designed as a humour model. A silicate to make you smile. Hmmm. Ohhhh. (tutting noises) Now, I know you're allowed to tell me your name, and, I just hate people who are impolite.
WANG: Wang, Paul, First Lieutenant, number nine-four-eight-three-zero-three-four-eight-two-eight.
ELROY: Well, it's nice to meet you, Wang, Paul, nine-four-eight-three-four-three-zero-nine-two-eight.
Elroy wanders around the room.
ELROY: I'd like to welcome you to our little penal work facility. (chuckles) Now, I'm sure there's a gag in there somewhere, yes. Sure there is. Well, let me fill you in on what we're up to here, Wang, Paul. Okay? You're in alien occupied territory. But I'm sure you knew that, right?
Elroy approaches close to Wang.
ELROY: Oh, and by the way, they hate when you call them aliens and chigs. Oh ... (tuts) in fact they call you alien and a name that translates, well loosely, into red stink creature. It's a little more poetic, of course, when they say it. But (sniffs) ... your blood smells repugnant to them.
Elroy moves away again.
ELROY: But they're a wonderful species, yes! And we A.I.s get on with them very well. In fact, we run this prison facility for them because the air is just im-possible on them. Uh huh. In return we get to keep certain raw fuels that are mined. Now that's very fair.
Elroy clicks his jaw.
ELROY: Wouldn't you say?
Elroy squats down by Wang's head.
ELROY: Yes, they are very, very fair ...
Elroy begins turning a crank under the table/chair that alters the position of Wang's body so that his head is raised and his feet lowered.
ELROY: ... caring ... just ... all the things you carbonites are not. Right, Wang, Paul? Yeah. You know, you ... invaded their territory first, didn't you? Didn't you?
Elroy's lips are right by Wang's ear. Elroy sweeps his hand across Wang's body just centimetres above it.

Elroy removes the top of his left index finger to reveal some sort of metal prong that makes electrical noises.

Cut to inside the loading bay. The 58th disembark, looking around. Hawkes is holding McQueen up.
ROSS: Five-eight, you believed in an act that couldn't be done. You put your lives on the line for that belief ... and returned with both. Welcome home.
Ross salutes them. The other crew members, gathered to welcome them home, applaud as they 58th leave the loading bay.
As Wang climbs the steps, his hand holding the railing, Stroud covers his hand with hers.

I think it was my first thought after waking up this morning that I used to date Julia Roberts a long time ago.
I also have these unexplained thoughts that I was a fighter pilot in the U.S. military, although I'm not sure which service, but I may have been in two different branches over time. I am also confused about thoughts that I may have been a helicopter pilot. What's next? A space shuttle pilot? Seems like a lot for someone that is only 40. And, while I am not sure when this divergence happened, I am reasonably certain it was before I turned 33. So I must have been a pretty busy guy. Especially because I have thoughts that I was some kind of mathmetician too. I have these thoughts too that I was captured by enemy forces at some point and tortured while in captivity.

HOUSTON — Astronauts and cosmonauts watched their ships part and fade into the blackness of space Tuesday in an orbital pirouette that ended five days of flying as a single craft.
"We're just shaking our heads at how quickly this has all gone by," said Charles Precourt, pilot of the U.S. space shuttle Atlantis. "It's as if it were a dream, that we didn't really live it, it happened so fast. . . . But what a great time, what a great effort."
For half an hour, three craft hovered a few hundred feet from one another while hurtling around Earth at 5 miles a second: The Russian Soyuz capsule with two cosmonauts, Atlantis with eight passengers, and the temporarily unmanned Russian space station Mir.
Both crews recorded the historic moment on video and film, but the sun's glare spoiled many of the pictures.
"It's been an inspiring visit with our neighbors in space. We look forward to returning," said NASA's Mission Control.
"We agree with that. . . . We agree 100%," Atlantis' commander, Robert L. (Hoot) Gibson, replied as he backed the shuttle away from the station. "In one of the simulations, the words 'cosmic ballet' came to mind, and I guess that's where we are now."

Robert Baer was a CIA officer for decades, before coming in from the cold in the late 1990s. He's written a series of memoirs, including Sleeping with the Devil, The Company We Keep, and See No Evil, which was the basis for the George Clooney movie Syriana. His latest book is called The Perfect Kill: 21 Laws for Assassins.
We've invited Baer — who may or may not have been tapping our phones all week — three questions about bears.
TRANSCRIPT
POUNDSTONE: So there was - it was only three months of training before you were jumping out of an airplane with a machine gun?
BAER: They did it right away. They kicked you - a night jump, too - and firing guns and blowing stuff up.
SAGAL: You know, it's interesting because usually, on the few occasions I've talked to intelligence agents, they all sort of chuckle, and say, oh, no, no, no, it's nothing like you see in the movies. You sound like you could be in a movie, like downhill-ski-racer-bon-vivant-drug-user from Aspen - secretly a spy who jumps out of planes with machine guns. I mean, at what point - was there a point - was it, like, when you were jumping out of the airplanes or when you said to yourself I actually like this because you were in the company for, like, what, three decades, right?
BAER: Yeah. No, it was more like what in God's name am I doing here?
SAGAL: Yeah.
BAER: When I tried to an assassinate Saddam Hussein, and I was up there. And there were shells going back and forth, and I was in my REI jacket holding a Kalashnikov watch in the middle of a battle, and then almost getting indicted by the FBI for attempted murder of Saddam Hussein. Then I was really asking myself what am I doing here?
SAGAL: Wait a minute.
BABYLON: You just said that real casually.
AMY DICKINSON: Wait, they're the good guys.
SAGAL: Hold on. Let's slow down and take this beat-by-beat. So hang with me here. So when was this, exactly?
BAER: This was 1995.
SAGAL: 1995 - so post-Gulf War.
BAER: Yeah - into Iraq to get rid of Saddam Hussein. And I didn't have all the paperwork done completely. But I was close enough, so I just launched. And no one had told the White House or the FBI. So when I came back, you know, the FBI sort of met me at the airport and my whole team.
SAGAL: So they presumably, they let you go.
BAER: Yeah. I have a letter of declination declining to prosecute me for murder. It's sort of - you know, a lot of people have brag walls. But I got one.

Northern Iraq, 1995: In the protected no-fly-zone, Baer heads a small CIA team reaching out to dissidents working to get rid of Saddam Hussein. He meets with an Iraqi general, a recent defector who's plotting a coup within the military. He meets with the leader of the Iraqi National Congress, a CIA-backed rebel coalition. He meets with Kurdish militia officers itching to attack the Republican Guard.
They all want to know whether Washington is really behind them. Baer himself isn't entirely confident of that. Then he gets a cable from the National Security Council, telling him to deliver a message to Ahmed Chalabi, head of the INC rebels, who has set a date of March 4 for an "uprising" and sabotage campaign against the Iraqi government.
"The action you have planned for this weekend has been totally compromised," the cable reads. "We believe there is a high risk of failure. Any decision to proceed will be entirely on your own."
Washington also gets wind that a rogue "NSC team" in Iraq is shopping around a plan to murder Saddam Hussein. The leader is identified as "Robert Pope." The allegations are bogus, but Baer must answer to them in Washington.
"I had been yanked back from what I still consider a historic opportunity to unseat Saddam Hussein," he writes, "and dropped into a vipers' nest."
A year later, the Justice Department declined to prosecute Baer. The CIA awarded his Iraq team a citation. But he didn't stick around long, telling the director of operations, "This cowboy is hanging up his spurs."

Robert Booker Baer (born July 11, 1952) is an American author and a former CIA case officer who was primarily assigned to the Middle East.
During the mid-1990s, Baer was sent to Iraq with the mission of organizing opposition to Iraqi President Saddam Hussein but was recalled and investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation for allegedly conspiring to assassinate the Iraqi leader. While in Salah al-Din, Baer unsuccessfully urged the Clinton administration to back an internal Iraqi attempt to overthrow Hussein (organized by a group of Sunni military officers, the Iraqi National Congress' Ahmad Chalabi, and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan's Jalal Talabani) in March 1995 with covert CIA assistance. Baer quit the Agency in 1997 and received the CIA's Career Intelligence Medal on March 11, 1998.
