Tonight on broadcast antenna tv in Spokane is a rebroadcast at 12:30 AM this morning of The Twilight Zone episode The 7th Is Made up of Phantoms.
Call me a dim-wit but only because I was watching again this episode did I learn that Custer was killed in what is now the state of Montana.
I had never before thought to wonder where that battle actually occurred. Because of the Great Sioux War of 1876, I just assumed it was, if I had been asked or tasked with identifying, would have guessed it was in the Dakotas or south of there.
Nope. Just outside of what is now Billings.
The 1996 film "Star Trek: First Contact" never mentions a city in Montana, that I know of.
Only later was Bozeman identified as the specific location, but that was only after the 1996 film.
Billings is the capital of Montana.
Thinking about how this new information affects my code pattern, I discovered an association that seems interesting to me that I didn't notice first last night in one of the other several reports I have labored over at this stupid desk.
"Absaroka-Betroth" seems to be a typographic error, all I can guess now. Unless they once called it something different, that is now known as Beartooth. Google maps shows that area in Montana on the south border and to the west of the Custer monument outside Billings.
The new addition here I found by accident. I clicked on the wrong item in my original software interface that generates these code patterns. A quick glimpse was all I needed to recognize a clear pattern that is compelling to me personally, for reasons I have hypothesized here for many, many years now. Not sure if I would have thought tonight otherwise to check for that pattern. Now after-the-fact it seems an obvious detail to check for.
