Bubble-heads amazed

I sincerely doubt her "Amazed!" amazement is because of something about this.

More proof that you're all Ignorant Assholes. Every time you blather away about the weather and the climate, every person you spew at with your ridiculous diatribe has proof that you're both Ignorant Assholes.

I see this image and I think many things.

One is about imbalance.

That imbalance will shift gradually over time.

And that shift will cause - I suspect - a gradual difference in the weather patterns we experience over the next few months. Possibly - I guess - the pattern of motion of the so-called Jet Stream. Or the formation of low-pressure systems in the Gulf of Alaska.

Bubble-heads don't find any of that amazing.

She's just as amazed about a pair of shoes at the shopping mall.

Also makes me think I would like to get in a few more bicycle rides before the inevitable snow-berms clog the streets around here, and the inevitable dangers. Still haven't fixed that flat tire. Hopefully the cheap tube fits. I'll be amazed.

The Blob is Weakening

It is sad but true. The Blob, the area of above normal sea surface temperatures in the northeast Pacific, is weakening, particularly near the U.S. West Coast.

The plot of the sea surface temperature anomaly (difference from normal) for today (Wednesday) shows normal or even below normal sea surface temperatures along the west coast and extending well offshore of the Northwest. This is a major change over the past few weeks. A few months ago the sea surface temperatures off our coast were roughly 5F above normal. No more. There is still some BLOB warmth further offshore, but I suspect that will weaken over time now.
