"Sometimes a Great Notion" is the thirteenth episode in the fourth season of the reimagined Battlestar Galactica.
The episode continues from "Revelations", where both the colonial fleet and the rebel Cylons finally found Earth, only to find it devastated by a nuclear holocaust at least 2,000 years ago from the series' perspective, and the discovery leads to despair all across the fleet.

Kakuei Tanaka (4 May 1918 – 16 December 1993) was a Japanese politician and the 64th and 65th Prime Minister of Japan from 7 July 1972 to 22 December 1972 and from 22 December 1972 to 9 December 1974 respectively. Fires continue to break out at the tsunami-devastated nuclear power plant ahead of the crisis level being raised to 7 with one raging in a building close to one of the reactors.
As workers continue to battle in vain to bring the situation under control at the Fukushima plant, a blaze was discovered in a room filled with batteries close to No 4 unit.
Japanese officials admitted today that the spread of radiation from its crippled nuclear plant was out of control and that the government had raised the crisis level to the worst on the international scale.
