The family of Lt. Murphy joined Rear Adm. Edward Kristensen and his wife on the visit to the cemetery. Lt. Cmdr. Kristensen and Lt. 071024-N-6710M-004 SOUTH CHINA SEA (Oct 24) - Operations Specialist Seaman Whitney R. Hudson tracks contacts using the status board in Pilothouse aboard the dock landing ship USS Tortuga (LSD 46). Tortuga and the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) have been in the Philippines participating in bilateral exercises, Exercise Talon Vision and Amphibious Landing Exercise (PHIBLEX 08), with the armed forces of the Philippines. Tortuga is serving under Commander, Expeditionary Strike Group 7/Task Force 76, the Navy's only forward-deployed amphibious force. ESG 7/Task Force 76 is headquartered at White Beach Naval Facility, Okinawa, Japan, with an operating detachment in Sasebo, Japan. 071021-N-7981E-114 PACIFIC OCEAN (Oct. 21, 2007) - Master-at-Arms 3rd Class Owen Davis, assigned to Helicopter Visit, Board, Search and Seizure (HVBSS) Team 1, participates in fast-rope training held in the hangar bay of Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72). This maneuver is used to board vessels from a helicopter. Lincoln is underway for Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMTUEX), an exercise designed to enhance the interoperability of the carrier and its strike group.
