071020-N-4014G-288 MOMBASA, Kenya (Oct. 20, 2007) - Sailors attached to the guided-missile destroyer USS Porter (DDG 78) watch African elephants drink from a watering hole while on safari in Mombasa. Porter's port call to Mombasa is the first visit of a U.S. Navy ship to the city since guided-missile destroyer USS Gonzalez (DDG 66) in 2005 and only the 3rd ship visit since 1999. Porter is conducting Maritime Operations (MO) in the 5th Fleet area of operations with the Kearsarge Expeditionary Strike Group.
