From: Kerry W. Burgess (official United States federal undercover identity, an identity completely compromised by forces hostile to the United States of America)
Governor,
I have communicated these details and more to the Office of the Inspector General, Department of Justice, and I wanted to also inform you of my observations.
I currently maintain an official United States federal undercover identity and I began that assignment on 12/7/1998 to investigate Microsoft Corporation sponsored terrorism. My deployment start date is recorded as 3/15/1998 and 3/16/1998 and I have been 100% deployed since then without even being able to visit with my family. I have not yet been granted permission to resume my true identity. And there is predictability to the terrorists attacks I have survived to this point.

Conduct Unbecoming: How a disgraced sheriff's deputy beat the system
By ERIC NALDER AND LEWIS KAMB
SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER REPORTERS
First of three parts.
A vice cop gone bad, turned in by a high-dollar madam and his ex-prostitute wife. Members of an elite sheriff's unit running out of control. A personal trainer peddling designer drugs. An FBI agent kicked off the case. Political ambition colliding with unpleasant facts. And finally, days before the cop was to be tried, a top-level decision to pay him off and kill the case.
It could be a Hollywood screenplay. Instead, it's a King County reality.

The investor whose money prosecutors say was stolen by Alberto W. Vilar, the philanthropist and investment adviser, has been identified as the 67-year-old widow of a California millionaire.
The investor, generally identified in a Securities and Exchange Commission complaint as "L. C.," but on two occasions as "Cates," is Lily Cates, 67, of Manhattan, supporters of Mr. Vilar said, clearing up one of the mysteries surrounding his arrest. The original charges, unsealed on May 27, gave no details about his accuser, who has been identified in unrelated court cases also as Lily Cates Naify.

NASA to search attics for missing moon-walk tapes
By Seth Borenstein
The Associated Press
WASHINGTON — Red-faced because the best pictures of its glory days are missing, NASA said Tuesday it was launching an official search for more than 13,000 original tapes of the historic Apollo moon missions.
What's missing are the never-before-broadcast, clear, original videos — not the grainy, converted pictures the world watched on television more than three decades ago.
The tapes aren't lost, says the NASA official in charge of the search. But he doesn't know where they are.
Most likely they are somewhere at the sprawling Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md., which misplaced the tapes originally. But they also could be stored somewhere else.
The original video, taken directly from the moon and beamed to deep-space network observatories in Australia, has never been seen by the general public or even NASA officials.

Just Another Day
(theres life underground)
I feel it all around / I feel it in my bones
My life is on the line / when Im away from home
When I step out the door / the jungle is alive
I do not trust my ears / I dont believe my eyes
I will not fall in love / I cannot risk the bet
Cause hearts are fragile toys / so easy to forget
Its just another day / theres murder in the air
It drags me when I walk / I smell it everywhere
Its just another day / where people cling to light
To drive away the fear / that comes with every night
Chorus
Its just another . . . . . . . its just another day
Its just another . . . . . . . its just another day . . .
Its just another day--when people wake from dreams
With voices in their ears--that will not go away
I had a dream last night / the world was set on fire
And everywhere I ran / there wasnt any water
The temperature increased / the sky was crimson red
The clouds turned into smoke / and everyone was dead
(but) theres a smile on my face . . . for everyone
Theres a golden coin . . . that reflects the sun
Theres a lonely place . . . thats always cold
Theres a place in the stars . . . for when you get old
Theres razors in my bed / that come out late at night
They always disappear / before the morning light
Im dreaming again / of life underground
It doesnt ever move / it doesnt make a sound
And just when I think--that things are in their place
The heavens are secure--the whole thing explodes in my face

Memorable quotes for
In Harm's Way (1965)
Nurse Lieutenant Maggie Haynes: How do admirals feel about nurses?
Rear Admiral Rock Torrey: The same way captains did.
Admiral Kimmel: It is my duty to inform you that you have been relieved of your command, pending the findings of a court of inquiry.
Captain Torrey: I don't understand, sir.
Admiral Kimmel: You weren't zig-zagging when you took the two torpedoes.
Captain Torrey: I was stretching my fuel, sir.
Admiral Kimmel: If you didn't have fuel to complete your mission, why didn't you turn back for Pearl?
Captain Torrey: My mission was to intercept and engage an enemy of greatly superior strength, sir. I could only take that one way: that my group was expendable.
Admiral Kimmel: I doubt if a court of inquiry will accept that. Captain, you're about to be caught in a vacuum between a peacetime Navy and a wartime Navy. Six months from now, they'll be making admirals out of captains who exhibit some guts. But right now, they're only reacting to the Pearl Harbor disaster, and punishment is order-of-the-day. Of course, you don't have to abide by what a court of inquiry decides. You can ask for general court-martial, get yourself a couple of crack sea lawyers, and make a fight of it.
Captain Torrey: I wouldn't care to do that, sir.
Admiral Kimmel: Why not?
Captain Torrey: Second-generation Navy, Admiral.
Admiral Kimmel: I see. I don't plan to ask for court-martial either, Captain, and I've lost a fleet. So I expect we'll both just take what they give us, and trust it will be a useful job somewhere.
Captain Torrey: Yes, sir.
Admiral Kimmel: Good luck.
Captain Torrey: Good luck to you, sir.

Wish You Were Here is a concept album by Pink Floyd. Recorded at Abbey Road Studios between January and July, 1975 and released on September 15, 1975 (see 1975 in music), the album would later be regarded as one of Pink Floyd's greatest albums. Its lyrics, composed by Roger Waters and concerning the music industry, question the market-oriented record companies' lack of understanding and interest for musicians. The album also pays tribute to Syd Barrett, Pink Floyd's former guitarist and chief songwriter, especially "Shine On You Crazy Diamond", and the title track itself.

Pink Floyd Lyrics
Shine On You Crazy Diamond (I-V) Lyrics
Remember when you were young, you shone like the sun.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Now there's a look in your eyes, like black holes in the sky.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
You were caught on the crossfire of childhood and stardom,
blown on the steel breeze.
Come on you target for faraway laughter,
come on you stranger, you legend, you martyr, and shine!
You reached for the secret too soon, you cried for the moon.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Threatened by shadows at night, and exposed in the light.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Well you wore out your welcome with random precision,
rode on the steel breeze.
Come on you raver, you seer of visions,
come on you painter, you piper, you prisoner, and shine!

Shine On You Crazy Diamond (VI-IX) Lyrics
Nobody knows where you are, how near or how far.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Pile on many more layers and I'll be joining you there.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
And we'll bask in the shadow of yesterday's triumph,
sail on the steel breeze.
Come on you boy child, you winner and loser,
come on you miner for truth and delusion, and shine

The part I like about this episode is how "Homer" remembers differently the party while the other people were embarassed by his behavior. I believe this represents that I lost consciousness at the wedding ceremony for Phoebe and me on 7/21/1987 and the people who didn't know about my grueling test of survival in Africa thought I must have passed out from drinking too much alcohol the night before at my bachelor party. The 1991 "Navy SEALs" features a wedding scene and I believe that is relevant to our 7/21/1987 wedding. I have also been thinking there was a balcony in the chapel we were in and there was another group of people there for the wedding that the people on the main floor didn't know about. At that time on 7/21/1987, I was probably still in relatively bad shape and recovering from a wound that the doctors thought would require the amputation of my leg. I have been thinking I was hit on the leg with some kind of meat cleaver knife and the scar I have there matches that type of blade.

The next day at church, Marge signs up for a weekend retreat of marriage counseling hosted by Reverend Lovejoy and his wife. Marge recruits Grampa for the weekend to babysit since the babysitter she previously hired was emotionally scarred by Bart when he was a baby.
Homer finds out that the retreat will be held at Catfish Lake and packs his fishing equipment, despite Marge telling him that the retreat will be resolving their differences. On the way there, he learns of the legendary catfish, General Sherman, named after the Civl War era Union general. The only known picture of Sherman resembles the famous Loch Ness Monster photograph.
Meanwhile, at home, left with Grampa, Bart and Lisa decide to hold a party. At the lake the next morning Homer tries to sneak away to go fishing. Marge is upset that Homer would choose fishing over their marriage. Homer takes a walk instead. On the dock, Homer finds an abandoned fishing pole. The pole, with General Sherman on the line, yanks him off the pier into a small rowboat, and onto the lake. From their cabin window, Marge watches Homer battle General Sherman.
Bart and Lisa's party has ended and the house is a total mess. Watching Grampa cry and fearing that he will get in trouble, they frantically clean up the house, not knowing he was pretending.
Marge attends the workshops alone while Homer catches his fish. When he returns, Marge tells him their marriage is in trouble if he values fish more than her. To prove that he loves Marge more he lets the fish go (despite battling it for several hours) and they return together to a clean house.

War of the Simpsons
the music Marge uses to drown out her argument with Homer is the same music that the doctor used in `Simpson and Delilah' to drown out his conversation with Homer?
Marge explains that they're throwing a party to pay back all the friends who had invited them over.
Homer: Never thrown a party? What about that big bash we had with all the champagne and musicians and holy men and everything?
Marge: That was our wedding!
Homer: Oh.
-- pre-party discussion, ``War of the Simpsons''
Marge: Homer, go easy on the alkyhol. Remember last year at the Winfields' party when you threw up in the laundry hamper?
Homer: No.
Marge: Mm.
-- Homer starts getting tipsy, ``War of the Simpsons''
Dr. Hibert is not amused by Homer's gag ice cube. Bart swipes some `horse doovers'', and Homer asks him to do ``that thing you know how to do'' for the adults. Bart doesn't know what he's talking about, so Homer sends him to bed. Later that evening, Homer makes a fool of himself with a lampshade on his head. Meanwhile, Maggie gets into the pile of coats and makes confetti of the dollar bills. Homer drunkenly tells off a guest, and looks down Maude's dress. The guests leave...
Dr. Hibert: If you want him to live through the night, I suggest you roll him onto his stomach.
Marge: Thank you, I will, Dr. Hibert. Thanks for coming.
Dr. Hibert: Remember, I said `if'.

So the Reaper feels he has no choice but to sentence Homer to an eternity. But Marge runs in with a photo of Homer and her at her wedding. It's a picture of Homer choking in an emergency room, and Marge explains that Homer ate the entire wedding cake by himself before the wedding. The jury find this roundly amusing. But she hastily tells them, "Read the back!"
Blackbeard: {[looking at the photo] Arr, 'tis some kind of treasure map!}
Arnold: {You idiot! You can't read.}
Blackbeard: {Aye, 'tis true. My debauchery was my way of compensatin'!}
-- No brain cells left, "Treehouse of Horror IV"
Arnold reads, "Dear Marge: you have given me your hand in marriage. All I can give you in return is my...soul, which I pledge to you forever." Lizzie announces, "We've heard enough. Your Honor, we find that Homer Simpson's soul is legally the property of Marge Simpson and not of the devil." The devil is despondent, but Bart and Lisa are elated.
The judge and jury disappear in a puff.

This is probably about how I appeared to pass out drunk out at the wedding. As with "Homer" in "War Of The Simpspons," I remember the true circumstances of what all was happening that day and I also remember how Phoebe looked like an angel to me. I have been thinking that is also the basis for the scene in "Star Trek: First Contact" as I mention here later.

At one point, sometime in 1995, I think, according to my artificial memories, UFP transferred me to Charlotte, NC, to work in a bank there and I lived in an apartment named Arrowood at corner of Arrowcreek and Royal Point. From there, I moved across town to an apartment on Dresden that was near Sheffield. Then I moved back across town to Whitehall Estates. That was the last place I lived in North Carolina, until I moved to Rock Hill, SC. I lived at Paces River apartments in Rock Hill before I left for Microsoft to begin my work there with my undercover identity.

The Palace of Whitehall was the main residence of the English monarchs in London from 1530 until 1698 when all except Inigo Jones' 1622 Banqueting House was destroyed by fire. Before the fire it had grown to be the largest palace in Europe, with over 1,500 rooms (and was at one time the largest building in the world).
The palace gives its name — Whitehall — to the current administrative centre of the UK government.

Just call Dame Helen Mirren Your Majesty on-screen
She plays the 16th-century queen in the two-part miniseries "Elizabeth I," premiering on HBO Saturday at 8 p.m. Later this year, she'll be seen as the current Elizabeth II in the feature film "The Queen," which takes place in the days following Princess Diana's death.
Scripted by Nigel Williams, the miniseries uses many of the intellectual monarch's own words. England's Palace of Whitehall was re-created in Lithuania inside a Soviet-era concrete gymnasium.
"It was this amazing set, all in one piece so you could walk from one room to another," said Mirren, describing the juxtaposition of the private and the public -- the "almost erotic" atmosphere of the queen's bedroom being right next to the political council chamber.
She also has great praise for the costumes, designed by Mike O'Neill.
"The older she got, the more extreme they got and the lower cut. Funnily enough, there's a lot of talk about her baring her bosom," laughed Mirren, who has never shied away from playing nude scenes, but doesn't have to go that far this time.
Elizabeth II wasn't on duty when Mirren was dubbed a dame -- Prince Charles did the honors -- but Mirren once met the monarch briefly at a polo match.
"It was a great place to meet because she was in her element," the actress recalled. "She's very charming. Sparkling. People don't see that. ... She's just not interested in smiling when she doesn't have reason to smile."

I happened to glance at this article and it reminded me of something I had thought of a few times in recent memory. It was a time when Randy Romines father was in the hospital. He was dying from emphysema. That would have been 1978 I believe. I spent the night at least once on the sofa in his hospital room. I can't remember for certain his name, but I'm pretty sure it was Ronnie Romine. This article describes when Ronald Reagan was in the hospital after being shot by an assassin. He was having a lot of trouble it sounds like with the breathing tubes and he wanted to thank the nurse for staying with him. The article states her name as Marisa Mize.

When I wrote yesterday about Snake Plissken being a glider pilot, I forgot to note another thought on that topic. I have wondered if I ran out of fuel on the return from Osirak and had to land the F-16 unpowered in the desert.
I wanted to write about something else a few days ago that I forget to mention that seems relevant. I was writing about the time, which seems associated with STS-1, when the toilet backed up in that house on De Quincy. It had overflowed onto the floor and all the tiles on the bathroom floor started coming unglued and after a short period, were completely attached. I remember, for some reason, that mom laughed about how I fixed it. I started nailing down the tiles until I ran out of nails. She thought that was funny and I wondered why. I thought it was a good idea. She said she was going to get the landlord to fix them. I started thinking yesterday that I am remembering something about the heat shield tiles on the shuttle but I'm not sure what this memory actually represents. If I'm not mistaken, the shuttle tiles are glued, just as those bathroom floor tiles were supposed to be. Maybe I remembering some kind of suggestion I made to bolt down the missing tiles as we prepared to return to Earth in 1981.
And I must not have been badly hurt after that supposed fall from the landing shuttle because I apparently was flying over Baghdad only a couple months later.

If I did fall out of Columbia on 4/14/81 and deployed a parachute, that would explain the scars on the top and back of my legs. The parchute harness would probably create those kinds of injuries. And I've been thinking it wasn't a static line, rather a tether. I have been thinking that I, similar to that Rambo movie, had to cut the line and I was being thrown against the wing after being thrown out. I wonder if that was the inpsiration for "Die Hard" where he almost gets dragged out the window of the building while that fire hose was tied around his waist.
JOURNAL ARCHIVE: Tuesday, May 08, 2007
That memory of jumping off the radio tower with the towel for a parachute probably reflects falling out of the space shuttle after I fixed the landing gear at the last second. The notion of using the towel might reflect that I was too low for my parachute to fully inflate. The part about not remembering how it turned out probably means that I was knocked unconscious after a hard landing on the desert floor and I woke up in a hospital room. The reason for the “R2-D2” model rocket is because the space shuttle on the launch pad resembles the space shuttle from the back when it is on the launch pad.

The navigational deflector (also called the deflector dish, the deflector array or the nav deflector) is a component of many starships, and is used to deflect space debris, asteroids, microscopic particles and other objects that might collide with the ship. At warp speed the deflector is virtually indispensable for most starships as even the most minute particle can cause serious damage to a ship when it is travelling at super-light velocities.

STS-1 was the first test flight of what was, at the time, probably the most complex spacecraft ever built. Unsurprisingly, there were numerous problems – 'anomalies' in NASA parlance – on the flight, as many systems could not be adequately tested on the ground or independently. Some of the more serious or interesting were:
During reentry a protruding tile gap filler ducted hot gas into the right main landing gear well, which caused significant damage including buckling of the landing gear door[1]. Also, a tile next to the right-hand External Tank (ET) door on the underside of the shuttle was incorrectly installed, leading to excessive re-entry heating and melting of the part of the ET door latch.
The song "Treat Me Right" is playing in the movie in the scene where "Paula" is the passenger in a blue, with gray primer, 1960 Ford Falcon. A scene that follows has "Paula" getting into the driver's seat and that scene reminds me of an early Pink Floyd song, "Careful With That Axe, Eugene" because they stop in front of a large group of logs at that paper mill they work at. That notion is also present in the "Star Trek: Generations" movie in the scene where "Captain Picard" meets "Captain Kirk" for the first time. In an earlier scene in "An Officer And A Gentleman," "Paula's" coworker "Lynnette" is anticipating the buzzer and "Paula" makes a gesture to indicate the number '3' and I think that has something to do with me being a field goal kicker, and possibly about a "buzzer beater" 3-point shot in a basketball game. That scene where "Paula" makes that gesture for '3' is her first scene. A later scene has them on the U.S. Navy base where the woman they meet ask if they want meet the U.S. Navy Blue Angels pilots.

It is interesting to look at the map for that one place I lived, in my artificial memory at least, in Charlotte, NC. My street address was Dresden, for which I have felt some discomfort that I don't want to discuss very much, it produces something almost like dread for what I thought was an obvious reason. I started thinking more about it in terms of the Falklands War and I wonder what it means. A close-by street is named Sheffield. And that near-by park named Sheffield is I think where I remember stopping in one Saturday morning to watch some kind of Little League baseball game, which I remember enjoyed watching because it reminded me of playing baseball in my youth. All this, my apartment, the park, most of where I was riding my bicycle, was in between the two main roads Independance and Central. There is also that Sharon Amity street. Also nearby, although I don't remember actually knowing it at the time I lived there and notice it listed on the map, was the Evergreen Cemetary. I was living on Dresden when I was contract working for Microsoft Charlotte, but I can't remember if I was living there when I started or if I was still living at Arrowood.
Now I am thinking about how I graduated high school on a Friday and was in boot camp that following Monday. I believe that was May 12, 1984, and May 15, 1984, respectively. I remember that for a long time, I didn't know what it was they were doing to wake us up in the morning. All I knew was that I was suddenly awake and didn't know why. They were banging on an aluminum trash can. Since those aren't real memories, it must represent something else, something much more dramatic perhaps.

Suojelupoliisi, or Supo informally, is Finland's security police. Directly translated, suojelupoliisi means "protection police", though the official English translation is "security police". It is composed of policemen with additional training, staff numbering 200. It specializes in preventing security threats and participates in protecting the parliamentary democracy as well as protecting the nation's security interests.
Supo was formed in 1949 to replace its predecessor, Valtiollinen Poliisi ("Governmental Police") or Valpo. In the aftermath of the Second World War the leadership positions of Valpo had been filled by communists and some of its activities were found erroneous and illegal by an investigation committee. Valpo was closed after the Weapons Cache Case.

Remarks at the Welcoming Ceremony for the Freed American Hostages
January 27, 1981
By no choice of your own, you've entered the ranks of those who throughout our history have undergone the ordeal of imprisonment: the crew of the Pueblo, the prisoners in two World Wars and in Korea and Vietnam. And like those others, you are special to us. You fulfilled your duty as you saw it, and now like the others, thank God you're home, and our hearts are full of gratitude.
I'm told that Sergeant Lopez here put up a sign in his cell, a sign that normally would have been torn down by those guards. But this one was written in Spanish, and his guards didn't know that ``Viva la roja, blanco, y azul'' means ``Long live the red, white, and blue.'' They may not understand what that means in Iran, but we do, Sergeant Lopez, and you've filled our hearts with pride. Muchas gracias.
Two days ago, Nancy and I met with your families here at the White House. We know that you were lonely during that dreadful period of captivity, but you were never alone. Your wives and children, your mothers and dads, your brothers and sisters were so full of prayers and love for you that whether you were conscious of it or not, it must have sustained you during some of the worst times. No power on Earth could prevent them from doing that. Their courage, endurance, and strength were of heroic measure, and they're admired by all of us.

On January 20, 1981, twenty minutes after President Reagan's inaugural address, the hostages were formally released into U.S. custody, having spent 444 days in captivity. The hostages were flown to Algeria as a symbolic gesture for the help of that government in resolving the crisis, where former President Carter, acting as an emissary for the Reagan administration, received them. The flight continued to Rhein-Main Air Base in West Germany. After medical check-ups and debriefings they took a second flight to Stewart Air Force Base in Newburgh, New York and a bus ride to the United States Military Academy, receiving a hero's welcome all along the route.

It was the weirdest sensation yesterday. I was walking back to my room and suddenly, I didn't know which door was to my room. I stood there at the one next door and I looked at the number on the door, which was not my number, but it meant nothing to me. I should have know at a glance that 334 was not my number. But the only detail that puzzled me was that the door handle was on the wrong side. And I was very puzzled over that. I probably didn't stand there very long before I figured out where I was, but it seemed like an eternity. I find myself thinking several times of how puzzling it was that I did not, or could not, understand that number on the door. I didn't even puzzle over that number, I just puzzled over the door handle. It wasn't until I almost reached for the door handle that I suddenly realized it wasn't my door and I realized that my door was the one to my right. I wonder if it is important that when I left my room a few minutes earlier, I was taking out the trash, that I noticed for the first time that the room on the other side of the hall, and kind of off-set from my door, is room 333. I wasn't really surprised by that because I had thought several times before about how my room number, 332, is close to that numerical sequence, but for some reason I can't explain, it seems important that I had just that time read the number 333 on that other door and it was a few minutes later as I was returning to my room that I couldn't understand the numbers on the doors.

What about those dreams? There was that one I can "remember" talking about to other people and that is an important detail, it seems to me. Why would I have false memories that involve me, in a false memory, talking about a dream that I never had. I can't remember as much of the detail about the dream as I feel I used to know, but the setting of the dream was in the mobile home of that place Joseph Burgess lived when he was managing that cattle ranch in north east Oklahoma. I can remember that Kevin and Jody and maybe Melissa were there. I feel as though there are some details missing now, but the dramatic event in the dream was that there were vampires in the house and we were scared. Eventually, we were all in the bedroom at the front on the trailer, and the really spooky part about the dream was that I could hear the vampire breathing but I couldn't see anything because I had the cover pull over my head. But I could hear it getting closer and closer and closer until it seemed to be right next to me. Then I woke up and the breathing I had heard all that time was from my girlfriend, Amanda. I was spending the night at her apartment when the Wainwright was in port. In the other dream, and I remember telling people about this one too, I was eating dinner that my mom had cooked and I was eating a biscuit and then I woke up and I had the comforter in my mouth. And now I just thought, there was that woman who lived down the street from me when I lived at Wexford and she worked at the First Federal. One day we were standing out in the parking lot after I had fixed the ATM, I think her name was Robin, and she accidentally spilled coffee on my red Mazda RX-7 and was very apologetic but I told her not to worry about it. I can still picture that scene. It seems it was the left side, behind the rear wheel, towards the bottom of the body. Why would I remember that?

Why would I have false memories of dreams? That just continues to baffle me.

The Time Machine (2002)
Release Date: 8 March 2002 (USA)
I haven't seen this movie but I have thought several times this scene was supposed to be a clue for me and I found it helpful and a legitimate association with my interests. It reminds me of an earlier time I thought someone had twice left a bomb in a business the zombies knew I went to on a regular basis as they followed me around. When I saw that scene in the previews, I imagined that is probably how I would have looked on the hidden cameras that would have recorded me walking away from the bomb that exploded, which I had recorded in my journal.
