"The Wedding Album"

Released February 23, 1993

In 1993, the band Duran Duran released a second self-titled album -- this Duran Duran album is informally known as The Wedding Album (for Stephen Sprouse's cover art which features the four band members' parents' actual wedding photos) to distinguish it from the band's debut 1981 release.

Recording of the album was completed in early 1992 with an impending release by Capitol Records in the U.S.A. Duran Duran's new management company, Left Bank, was distressed at the apparent lack of enthusiasm for the album and had it pulled from the release schedule. During this hiatus, the band began working on what would become the Thank You album, and a Warren Cuccurullo-derived riff of "First Impression" led to the rapid inclusion of the song "Come Undone".

The swift commercial and critical success of this album came as a surprise to many who considered Duran Duran to be a purely "eighties" phenomenon who had already faded to oblivion. It hinged on the Adult Contemporary singles "Ordinary World", which was forced onto radio playlists months earlier than planned by listener demand for the leaked single, and "Come Undone", a slinky number primarily written by Cuccurullo. Some critics seemed to consider the band as a modern act for the first time, and to re-evaluate their back catalog as deeper and more significant than that of a throwaway "teeny-bop" band.

Both the band and the record label seemed to be caught by surprise by the sudden success. Bassist John Taylor, who had begun recording solo material on the side and was considering leaving the band, agreed to stay instead.

In 1994, to commemorate their UK tour, the album was reissued with a second disc of b-sides and remixes.

The Apollo 11 mission was the first manned mission to land on the Moon. It was the fifth human spaceflight of the Apollo programs, and the third human voyage to the moon. Launched on July 16, 1969, it carried Commander Neil Armstrong, Command Module Pilot Michael Collins and Lunar Module Pilot Edwin 'Buzz' Aldrin. On July 20, Armstrong and Aldrin became the first humans to land on the Moon, while Collins orbited above.

At 2:56 UTC on July 21, Armstrong made his descent to the Moon's surface and spoke his famous line "That's one small step for (a) man, one giant leap for mankind" exactly six and a half hours after landing.[1] Aldrin joined him, saying, "Beautiful. Beautiful. Magnificent desolation."

Episode Number: 32

Season Num: 3

First Aired: Sunday December 3, 2000

When Fry and Bender decide to take the Planet Express ship out for a joy ride and end up damaging the building, they get themselves and Leela fired. Leela decides to get her old job back at the Cryogenics lab, but accidentally switches her old career chip with Fry's. She ends up working as a pizza delivery girl while Fry and Bender have new jobs as cryogenics counselors. Fry and Bender are enjoying their new jobs when Fry unfreezes his old girlfriend Michelle from a thousand years ago. It turns out Michelle's life went downhill after Fry left and she froze herself to get a new start. Fry and Michelle seem to be back together, but everything in the future freaks her out. She talks Fry into freezing themselves again another thousand years. When they wake up they find themselves in an apocalyptic wasteland run by kids with guns. After arguing with Michelle, Fry decides to leave her. Fry goes wandering off and finds what seems to be Mann's Chinese Theater. He soon finds Leela and Bender and they tell him that's he's not in the year 4000 at all, but rather in Los Angeles.

Biography for
Tiger Woods

As a child, Woods was one of junior golf's most accomplished players. He putted against Bob Hope on the "The Mike Douglas Show" (1961) at the improbable age of 2, shot 48 for nine holes at age 3, and was featured in "Golf Digest" at age 5. Woods won several major youth titles in southern California. He won three straight U.S. Amateur titles in 1994, 1995, and 1996 after winning three consecutive U.S. Junior Amateur titles in 1991, 1992, and 1993. He turned professional in the summer of 1996, and the game of golf hasn't been the same since.

Quantum Leap is an American science fiction television series that ran for 95 episodes from March 1989 to May 1993 on the NBC network. Each episode of the series begins with a spoken introduction which explains the series' premise:

Theorizing that one could time-travel within his own lifetime, Dr. Sam Beckett led an elite group of scientists into the desert, to develop a top-secret project known as Quantum Leap. Pressured to prove his theories or lose funding, Dr. Beckett prematurely stepped into the project accelerator, and vanished...

He awoke to find himself trapped in the past, facing mirror images that were not his own, and driven by an unknown force to change history for the better. His only guide on this journey is Al, an observer from his own time, who appears in the form of a hologram that only Sam can see and hear. And so Dr. Beckett finds himself leaping from life to life, striving to put right what once went wrong, and hoping each time that his next Leap...will be the Leap home...

Originally shown on Easter Sunday, 1989, the pilot was a two-hour movie simply known as Quantum Leap. When the show returned for new episodes in September of that year, however, NBC aired a severely edited (90-minute) version of the pilot called "Genesis."

Original airdate 1989-03-26

A man wakes up in a bed, thinking, "I did it!" His next thought is, "Did what?" His name is Tom Stratton. It's 1956. He works for the Air Force flying planes, and he's got a beautiful wife and a nice son. There's just one problem: he's pretty sure that his name's not Tom Stratton, it's Sam. But he can't even remember his last name. In fact, he's also pretty sure that the year shouldn't be 1956. And worst of all, he's never flown a plane in his life. (OK, make that more than one problem.)

Help (such as it is) comes along in the form of a man named Al. There's just one problem with Al: he's not really there. He's just a hologram. And holograms didn't exist back in 1956. And Al has the tendency to walk through invisible doors. Sam -- whoever he is -- is having a very bad day.

Eventually, Al explains to Sam that he's a part of a time-travel experiment from the future. He "leaped" into the past, but somehow wound up as Tom Stratton. But Tom Stratton died when attempting to fly the Mach-2...which, for Sam, is coming up in just a couple of days. If Sam can survive that, he'll change history, Al says, and hopefully "leap" again.

However, the leap doesn't take Sam home, as he hopes. Instead, he winds up as a minor-league baseball player back in 1968, trying to win his last game for his team.

Sam is really fed up with Al, and wants to know whose hairbrain idea this whole project was in the first place. Al tells him: it's Sam himself. Project Quantum Leap was his idea. "If anyone can figure out how to get you home," Al tells Sam, "it's you."
