Watching this now on DVD for the first time, although I have seen it several times on television after I saw it premiere in the theatres in 2004 at the mall in Spokane Valley Washington, I remember thinking about something yesterday or the day before. I was thinking again, as I have for several days, about a crocodile attack when I was scuba diving as a special operations capable United States Marine. Sometimes I think that I was the one the crocodile bit on the ankle but I feel more certain that the other United States Marine who was scuba diving with me was the one who got bit by the crocodile. The crocodile clamped down on his ankle and was dragging him down to the bottom at the body of water we were operating in, where the crocodile would store his body under something for later retrieval, and I chased after them and I used my field knife to kill the crocodile by jamming my knife into the eye socket of the crocodile. That character "Ana" does something similar to the zombie that is re-animated in this scene, where "Tucker" is the guy sitting there with the red cap on that has gold braiding on the cap bill and some other text I can't make out. At first I thought it might be something about the Field & Stream magazine but I don't think that is it. There seems to be a United States flag under the text. The red cap with gold braiding is recognizable to me as being associated with the United States Navy. The color red is also associated with the United States Marines and I always try to recall specifically why that makes me think about the United States Marine Corps. In the United States Navy, an officer associated with engineering, or ship's propulsion, would wear a similar hat with a working uniform.
I have also been wondering today if my experience in Croatia in 1990 and 1991 and later, with my work investigating the genocide in that region, and specifically searching for mass graves, would be beneficial or detrimental to when I am faced, someday in the future, and completely beyond my control, with the pending zombie apocalypse that is going to burn through this region in Washington State. I can understand why I have needed to block all that from my active awareness for the past thirteen years but what about when the day actually arrives that I am faced with something that is a million times more horrible? Would not that past experience make it easier for me to work here and to complete my mission?

Insignia and badges of the United States Marine Corps are military "badges" issued by the United States Department of the Navy to Marines who achieve certain qualifications and accomplishments while serving on both active and reserve duty in the United States Marine Corps.
As described in Chapters 4 and 5 of Marine Corps Uniform Regulations, "badges" are categorized as breast insignia (worn immediately above ribbons/medals), identification badges (usually worn at breast pocket level), and marksmanship badges (worn immediately below ribbons).

Diver Insignia

Diver Insignia are issued to personnel who are qualified divers and is given in several degrees. The first degree of diver insignia is SCUBA Diver.

I was writing earlier, yesterday I think, about the time I and the other people on Taverner’s team went to see “Mission: Impossible 2” at that theatre in downtown Bellevue. Wasn’t that the time, when we were leaving the theatre and were walking outside, when Sharon slapped me on the butt? I thought that was a pretty weird thing for her to do. If you know Sharon, you would wonder why she did that. I was walking in front of everyone when she did it, as I passed by her.
She is one of the last people I would imagine doing something like that to people she worked with.

They were probably video recording that incident with Sharon slapping my butt for some weird reason now that I think about it. Something weird about it. Other than the weirdness of Sharon hitting my butt and all the other weirdness going on.

As I was riding the bus to the VA, I remembered something else that happened at Microsoft. I was complaining to a friend one day about how Sharon Bjeletich had put a curtain up at the entrance to her cube so no one could see in. That was the second cube I sat in after moving to that new floor in the Bellevue office. Sharon sat two cubicles from me. Eddy Hahn was in the cube between us. I believe that Sharon put that curtain up because she, and everyone else, knew that there were cameras outside the building staring in at me and she was being captured in the frame. I am certain that happened in 2000 because I remember something from Halloween when I was still on that floor and by Halloween of 2001, we were all out at Issaquah. Halloween of 1999, I was still a TAM and I remember another TAM dressed up as a hockey player and he asked me if I was trying to work. Eddy is that guy I wrote about that worked in Las Vegas before Microsoft. He is from Budapest. I can't remember where Sharon was from originally but she is the one I wrote about that reminds me of Sarajevo.
