The extremely slight adversity of her life as a First Worlder polluter has made her and you all so cynical that you are crying out for sympathy from strangers.
Get over yourself, polluter!
All because of a few dollars. From a person whose problems she most certainly caused for herself, by actions and inactions.

The Stars My Destination

The Stars My Destination is a science fiction novel by American writer Alfred Bester.
Premise
In the 24th or 25th century (depending on the edition of the book), humans have colonized the Solar System and also learned to teleport (although not through outer space). It tells the story of Gulliver ("Gully") Foyle, a man driven and transformed by a thirst for vengeance.
Plot
At the time when the book is set, "jaunting" - personal teleportation - has so upset the social and economic balance that the Inner Planets are at war with the Outer Satellites.
He seeks out Robin Wednesbury, a one-way telepath
Finally he lands in the future, where Robin telepathically tells him how to escape from the collapsing cathedral
He jauntes from one nearby star to another, finding new worlds suitable for colonization, but reachable only if he shares the secret of space-jaunting. He comes to rest back with the cargo cult, where the people see him as a holy man and await his revelation.

I even tried to get a real professor of bible-thumping to review a couple of prime blog reports I made. I mean, anyone who claims to be an expert at interpreting the fairy-tales written by cavemen about that mythical figure "Jesus Christ" should be able to have an insightful opinion about "Star Trek: First Contact" right? I mean, that's some intriguing stuff from the year 1996 and every time I ask for an opinion, it's nothing but crickets out there in the real world.

For you people out there, your Jesus Christ bible-thumper mythology, as with all other religions of any type, that marketing-buzzword "faith" or even "karma", was invented by cavemen and those superstitious imbeciles were completely ignorant - almost as much as you, but less so because of the work of progressive scientific-research filtering down into elementary-school text books and not because of your ridiculous fairy-tales - of the difference between the stars in the night sky and the clouds in the sky above
The clouds are where your Monkey God(s) exist in your dim-wit dullard monkey-brain.
You're too weak to admit that you've become brainwashed by scam-artists because you're gullible and you're susceptible to superstition, in your cowardly terror of mortality. Now there's two lines of hieroglyphs. The inner track has the classic figures, but the outer track is like the cartouche in the center. It's got writing unlike what we've ever found before.
[Daniel steps back to see better.]
DANIEL
Those aren't hieroglyphics. Might be some form of hieratic or maybe cuneiform.
SHORE
Yeah.
[Daniel moves to a blackboard, looking at where the hieroglyphs have already been partly translated into English.]
DANIEL
Well, the translation of the inner track is wrong. Must've used Budge. I don't know why they keep reprinting his books.
[He starts erasing some of the translation.]
MYERS
Ex-excuse me. Wha-what are you doing? We've used every known technique.
[Daniel finally turns around, pointing to an untranslated symbol.]
DANIEL
That's a curious word, to use, eh, "Quebeh"?
MYERS
Yeah...?
DANIEL
Then an adverbial sedjem-en-ef with a cleft subject. Then "Sealed and buried."
[Adds the words to an untranslated section of the hieroglyphs, then crosses out "coffins".]
MYERS
Ex-excuse me. Wha-what are you doing?
DANIEL
That's not coffins.
[Daniel ignores Myers, crossing out the word "forever to eternity" and replacing it with...]
DANIEL
"For all time." Who the hell translated this?
[Catherine and Shore look at Myers.]
MYERS
Uh, I-I did.
DANIEL
Well, this should read: "A million years into the sky is Ra, sun god, sealed and buried for all time..." It's not "door to heaven". (He crosses that word out and replaces it.) "His Stargate."
