Driving along the streets in Seattle and in a bridge structure somewhere in the north of Seattle downtown. Traveled through there often. A maze of iron beams and rivets. As often happened traveling through there I have never really learned my way through that maze and today I regret not studying it better on the maps. I must have missed a turn somewhere because I remember now I am driving upwards towards the top of the white arch of a very large bridge span. I must not being terribly concerned because I am not having any trouble with traction so I am thinking it must be an actual roadway and I will simply drive on through and make my way towards my destination that day. There are no guardrails and no real structures on the edges so that should be a concern. I continue driving. Suddenly, I am airborne. And that is very concerning to me today. My eyes must be wide as a saucer, as goes the expression. I am sitting there in the car in the driver's seat and I am a dead man, I know for certain. Because I am suddenly in the open air and only the wide blue sky is visible to me. Then - suddenly - poof - and I am back again at an earlier point driving through that bridge structure. I become aware it is some sort of incredible "do over" process and I can do all that over again with the knowledge of my previous journey. I think this is really great and I am thinking of sending an email to my mom later describing the experience. A few moments later decide to write about it here on my blog. I continue driving, making the same turns at intersections in the bridge structure. Then it hits me: I am asleep. This is a dream. One of those rare experiences that leaves me feeling disappointed to wake and understand it is just a dream and I am asleep.
Lying there in the bed and trying to fall back to sleep I compose a long note in my mind, not really wanting to have to work on it later. In this note, I try to avoid describing all the minor details in my vision.

SIGNIFICANT SYMPTOMS/ISSUES: Presents with complicated delusional scheme with Capgrass Syndrome. Briefly, he states that on May 9th of last year he experienced an epiphany that he had been subjected to an elaborate 'brain washing' process sometime in 1998 or early 1999 that had left him with a lifetime of false memories. He believes this was done by the government to both protect him from traumatic memories and to keep him from disclosing vital information. (At this time he was hospitalized for depression with psychotic features, and a month later was transferred to the UW and then the VA.)

Slaughterhouse-Five, or, The Children's Crusade: A Duty-Dance with Death is a 1969 semi-autobiographic science fiction-infused anti-war novel by Kurt Vonnegut. It follows the life experiences of Billy Pilgrim, from his early years, to his time as an American soldier and chaplain's assistant during World War II, to the post-war years. Throughout the novel, Billy frequently travels back and forth through time. The protagonist deals with a temporal crisis as a result of his post-war psychological trauma. The text centers on Billy's capture by the German Army and his survival of the Allied firebombing of Dresden as a prisoner of war, an experience that Vonnegut endured as an American serviceman. Plot
The novel's first chapter begins with "All this happened, more or less"; this introduction implies an unreliable narrator tells the story. Events become clear through flashbacks and descriptions of time travel experiences. In the first chapter, the narrator describes his writing of the book, his experiences as a University of Chicago anthropology student and a Chicago City News Bureau correspondent, his research on the Children's Crusade and the history of Dresden, and his visit to Cold War-era Europe with his wartime friend Bernard V. O'Hare. In the second chapter, Vonnegut introduces Billy Pilgrim, an American man from the fictional town of Ilium, New York.
