History

The United States Marshal Office in South Carolina was established on September 24, 1789. The Eastern and Western Districts of South Carolina were formed on February 21, 1823, when Congress divided the South Carolina District. On October 07, 1965, the Eastern and Western Districts merged and became what is now known as the District of South Carolina.
