Beck: It's not working. He's digging in.

That single "Simpsons" episode he was in was 2981 days after 3/16/1998. Something about me flying back home, I guess. I'm not sure if I have seen this episode. I think I was at the time still living in Pioneer Square gulag homeless shelter, during that time of the 300 days I lived in there without even control over a light switch or even simple privacy in a bathroom and I didn't have control of a television and I didn't care about interacting with the other homeless people because their has been so much craziness surrounding me all these years on this assignment. That title makes me think of that trial a long time again. Something similar to the "monkey lawsuit."

From 3/3/1959 to 5/1/1967 is: 2981 days

Correction: I only have 5% more privacy here. That may change though because I am reasonably certain there is a hidden camera in my room somewhere. I have absolutely no doubt there is a listening device in there somewhere. I can't even read the newspaper without thinking someone is noting what I read.

At least I can now turn off the light switch when I want to go to sleep. That is a remarkable improvement. Now if I just had a television and my own internet connection, my imprisonment would be slightly more tolerable. "Tolerable," of course, is relative to the intolerable environment of having no private life.

Quotes

Insp. Gilson: There's something going on the boys downtown never told us about. Have you heard rumors of Mob kidnappings?

Buddy Manucci: [surprised] No. I thought it was about heavy artillery on the streets, that's all.

Lt. Jerry Hanes: Why the hell didn't you tell us? A squad from the Chief of Detectives' office is investigating stories about undercover police. Alleged police. Going around kidnapping wiseguys for ransom.

Buddy Manucci: [eyes widening] And they think it's us?

Insp. Gilson: Buddy, what would you think? What was Ansel doing with Cotello? A lot of people never wanted our outfit formed, you know that. They don't like the way we operate.

Buddy Manucci: What do YOU think?

Insp. Gilson: I think we've got a whole lot of unanswered questions here.

I am undecided about how detail I want to get into with Thedia and Melissa.

I don't think they know anything useful about my mental state.

I also find myself annoyed by this "mama" routine and I am not in the mood for pretending to be her son. I am not so much annoyed by Thedia herself, though. I am just sick and tired of this whole goddamed routine.

I've been thinking about something the person I remember as my mother said to me a long time ago. She came to visit me in Bellevue one time, I think it was 2001, I'm pretty sure it was right after that earthquake. She told me her boss was letting her take a business trip out to Bellevue because she hadn't seen me in a while and was worried about me. I remember commenting to her about how this was the first time she had actually been to my home. She had never before visited any place I had lived. I remember when I first saw her at the airport, she drew attention to her new hairstyle, which was a lot shorter than she had always worn it. I took off my cap and showed her that mine was shorter too, as I had earlier started shaving it all off. Funny story, I got the idea watching a tv movie about Genghis Khan and his sidekick had a shaved head and I thought that was probably how I would look. I remember noting that "Mom" didn't seem surprised I had shaved my head, as though she knew about it already. So anyway, as I looked at this picture several times over the past few weeks, I find myself thinking about the resemblance to Theda. When was it I had that physical with the doctor in Bellevue and he commented that the objects on my back, which turned out to be some kind of fibrous objects, were suspicious?

On Thursday, in an interview on the CBS News program "This Morning," Smith said that she had agreed to let the authorities search her home on Wednesday but that she did not know what they were looking for.

With her husband by her side for the interview, she denied knowing anything about the whereabouts of their two sons.

"I did not have anything to do with the abduction of my children," Smith said in the interview.

"I don't think that any parent could love my children more than I do, and I would never even think about doing anything that would harm them," she added. "It's really painful to have the finger pointed at you when it's your children involved."

Jake: Where are you getting all this?

Beck; I have a reliable source.

Jake: He killed my best friends sister. She was 18 years old.

Beck: I know.

Jake: And that was the end of a long line of murders. He needed to be dealt with.

Quotes

Dick Ennis: [talking on the radio intercom] Hello beachhead. this is Dick Ennis.I'm somewhere in the Alban Hills with the survivors. Sorry to take you away from the gaming table general, but I thought you should know you lost a couple pins off your chart. 1st and 2nd Rangers battalions have been wiped out. Did you read that? Of 767 men, there are 7 survivors left to see the result of one more royal foul-up. but this one's unique. This didn't happen because a general was too reckless. But because a general was too cautious! How about that? An entire outfit wiped out because the general was timid. I know it rarely happens that way general, but it sure as hell happened here. A timid general. He walked them into a park and left them in a graveyard.

Patty Murray Vs. Adams -- State Lawmaker Is First Democrat To Go For Senate Seat

By Jim Simon

OLYMPIA - State Sen. Patty Murray, who made her political entrance just four years ago with an upset election to the Legislature, now has a loftier goal: toppling fellow Democrat Sen. Brock Adams.

While Murray garnered high marks in Olympia as a freshman for her forceful advocacy for education and requiring businesses to provide family leave for employees, her colleagues are skeptical about whether she can raise the kind of big money needed for a Senate race.

Some counseled Murray to create an exploratory committee, rather than jump into the race immediately, as a way of keeping her options open - particularly if Lowry enters the fray.

"I just don't see where the support is coming from and nobody else does, either," said one prominent Democrat. "The concern isn't to prevent a primary fight. It's for Patty's future - that the day after the primary she'll be sitting on the sidewalk with nothing."

Murray professes to be unfazed by the gamble.

"I've done a lot of things without knowing exactly what I was jumping into," she said. "It's not that daunting."

Sedition

Episode 6 Season 2

Hawkins: Jake, I know you wanna protect your friend, but this is only gonna get worse until Beck gets the shooter.

Jake: There's only one thing to do.

(City Hall)

(Jake shows up, hands in the air)

Beck: This is a good start. Where's the rest of them?

Jake: It's my fault. And no one else's. I'm the sheriff--

Beck: You were sheriff.

Jake: I'm the only one to blame. The only one. So my terms are simple. My surrender for the amnesty of the other Rangers.

Beck: I accept your surrender, but not the terms. (They put a bag over Jakes head)

Jake: No, no, no, no. No!

(everyone in town is horrified by what's happening to Jake, including Heather)

Sedition

Episode 6 Season 2

Jake: You have me. What more do you want?

Beck: The truth would be a good start.

Jake: i killed Goetz.

Beck: You're lying.

Jake: No, he was my problem.

Beck: I know that you and the Rangers had a shootout with Ravenwood, killing several men in self-defense. I know that you subdued and disarmed Goetz. I know that you attempted to arrest him. And I know that Stanley Richmond then killed him.

Jake: Where are you getting all this?

Beck; I have a reliable source.

Jake: He killed my best friends sister. She was 18 years old.

Beck: I know.

Jake: And that was the end of a long line of murders. He needed to be dealt with.

Beck: You're not a judge. You don't get to make that call. Tell me where I can find Stanley and all this will end.

Jake; I'm not giving him up. If that's what you're waiting for, you're gonna be here a very long time.

Beck: Bring him in.

(They bring Russell in)

Beck: Your friend, Russell. He said the same thing. But everybody breaks eventually. And until you do, these four walls will be your entire world. You will not sleep... unless I let you. You will not eat until I feed you. You will give me what I want. I'll check back with you in a day. (They push him down)

(They turn a bright light on him)

Eric: What? Where?

Heather: I don't know. Jake tried to surrender, they put a hood over his head, and they dragged him away.

Bill: I don't think it's safe for us to stay here.

Emily: He isn't gonna talk.

Heather: He won't have to. At the rate Beck's going it'll only be a couple of days before he finds this place.

(Hog Farm Lights go out)

Beck: Get him up. I want you to sign something. It's a letter from you to your rangers. Rejecting their tactics in trying to secure your release. Your friends have been escalating this to a level I will not tolerate. They're putting their lives in danger out of loyalty to you. Is that really what you want? We both know where it goes from here, Jake. End it right now. Agree to sign this letter. Give me Stanley's location.

(Jake spits at him)

Beck: The offer of amnesty in exchange for Stanley Richmond is rescinded. The Rangers are now considered fugitives. I want all of them.

Jake: Good luck finding them.

Beck: Until they're produced, I'm declaring Jericho to be in open insurrection.

Beck: E.J. Green, U.S. Army Rangers, 1942 - 195.". "Johnston Green, US Army Rangers, 1969-1976." Both your father and grandfather were great soldiers. Mine too. I know how hard it can be to live up to someone else's legacy. It says here they both became mayor. You think they would have supported the citizens of this town taking the law into their own hands?

(In town, People are attacking with fire)

Soldier: Move it.

(They set the J&R building on fire)

Jake: They never would've let it get that far.

Beck: Excuse me?

Jake; They would have never handed over this town to a mercenary.

Beck: They didn't have to do what I'm doing. Stopping Americans from killing Americans. Putting a country back on it's feet.

Jake: *laughs* Open your eyes. It's not a country, it's a company. And you're just middle management. The people of Jericho are gonna take this town back. You're gonna have a revolt on your hands.

Soldier: Halt!

(Beck's office)

Beck: It's not working. He's digging in. Next steps.

Soldier: Yes, Sir. Sir, we also have a call from you. We patched it through.

Beck: Yeah, this is major beck.

John Smith: I have information on a terrorist you're hunting.

Beck: Who is this?

John Smith: I know you think you're searching for Sarah Mason but she's been dead for a few months. Look at your fax machine.

Beck: Who am I speaking with?

John Smith: The terrorist she worked with killed her. His name is Robert Hawkins. And he has a nuclear bomb.

Gail: Jake? Honey? Oh, Jake. Baby. Oh, Jake. Look at me, sweetheart.

Jake: mom. Mom, what are you doing here?

Gail: I heard you were in a little bit of trouble. Here. Have a drink of water. Come on, honey. There you go. Be careful. Here. There you go. There you go. That's better. Okay? Oh, sweetheart, you can't keep this up. And I can't stand to see you like this. There's got to be another way.

Jake; mom, you shouldn't be here.

Gail: now, listen. You just tell Major Beck whatever he wants to know. Please. And then he'll release you.

Jake: No, mom. No.

Gail: I love you son. *whispering* Eric and the boys are coming. *Normal* I love you. *Whispering* Stay alert. Don't give up.

Jake: Mom... Mom...

(On the road. Hawkins is being chased by some SUV's. Helicopter comes in too. )

Pilot: This is Delta Niner, I have a visual. Coming around for approach.

(Hawkins swerves)

Driver: Fox one to Fox two, he's in the trees. We'll wait for you to flush him out on the other side.

(Ranger Hideout)

Gail: I delivered the message to Jake. I need a map.

Bill: You see where they took you?

Gail: No, I was blindfolded. I couldn't see at thing. But i think I can help you find him. Okay, they put me in a Humvee and we took a right off of Main Street. And then we just kept on going until we crossed the Tacoma Bridge which means we were heading southeast. And then we went straight for about, maybe, 20 minutes. Then we took a left on a gravel road. And I thought we were at the Lavigne Farm. But the road felt bumpy all of a sudden. Really bumpy, like railroad tracks.

Bill: Sounds like you were out on 48 between Alex-Bell and Liddell Five points.

Eric: That's at least five square miles. Well, can you remember anything else?

Gail: umm... It smelled terrible.

Jimmy and Bill: Hog Farm.
