We Were Soldiers
We Were Soldiers is a 2002 American war film that dramatized the Battle of Ia Drang on November 14, 1965 — the first major engagement of the United States Army in the Vietnam War. The film was directed by Randall Wallace and stars Mel Gibson. It is based on the book We Were Soldiers Once… And Young by Lieutenant General (Ret.) Hal Moore and reporter Joseph L. Galloway, both of whom were at the battle.
After arriving in Vietnam, he learns that an American base has been attacked, and is ordered to take his 400 men after the enemy and eliminate them, despite the fact that intelligence has no idea of the number of enemy troops. He leads a newly created air cavalry unit into the Ia Drang Valley against over 4,000 -6,000 well equipped enemy soldiers.
An emotional toll is taken back home, where Moore's wife Julie (Madeleine Stowe) and another soldier's wife, Barbara Geoghegan (Keri Russell), take over the job of delivering telegrams that inform families (mainly wives like themselves) living at Fort Benning, Georgia, the unit's base of operation, of soldiers' deaths.

The same jury who convicted Susan Smith of murdering her two sons would decide whether she would die in the electric chair or receive a life in prison sentence in the penalty phase. The penalty phase would be similar to the trial, except that the prosecution had more latitude in building its theory that Susan Smith was a cold-blooded murderer who killed her children in the hope of reclaiming her lover.
Keith Giese's opening statement for the prosecution during the penalty phase was similar to his opening statement during the trial. Giese reminded the jury of Susan's "nine days of deceit and nine days of trickery."
In his opening statement, David Bruck told the jury that "the greatest punishment for Susan Smith would be life in prison, not death." This argument is what Dr. Morgan, the state's psychiatric expert witness, and other witnesses said she desired during her trial. Bruck reiterated to the jury that Smith was a deeply depressed and fragile person who made serious mistakes in her life to win love.
Solicitor Thomas Pope began the state's case by showing videotapes of Susan Smith lying about the disappearance of her sons. The first videotape was her tearful plea to the phantom carjacker outside the Union County Courthouse on November 2, 1994. The second videotape was composed of segments of three interviews Susan had given to network morning programs on November 3, 1994, the day she confessed to the crimes.

Prisoner of War Medal
The Prisoner of War Medal is a military award of the United States armed forces which was authorized by Congress and signed into law by President Ronald Reagan on 8 November 1985. The United States Code citation for the POW Medal statute is 10 U.S.C. § 1128.
The Prisoner of War Medal may be awarded to any person who was a prisoner of war after April 5, 1917, (the date of the United States entry into World War I was the 6th). It is awarded to any person who was taken prisoner or held captive while engaged in an action against an enemy of the United States; while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing Armed Force; or while serving with friendly forces engaged in armed conflict against an opposing Armed Force in which the United States is not a belligerent party. As of an amendment to Title 10 of the United States Code in 1989, the medal is also awarded for captivity by foreign armed forces that are hostile to the United States, under circumstances which the Secretary concerned finds to have been comparable to those under which persons have generally been held captive by enemy armed forces during periods of armed conflict. The person's conduct, while in captivity, must have been honorable. This medal may be awarded posthumously to the surviving next of kin of the recipient.

It was the jets flying over my apartment in Whitehall Estates. It wasn’t just the jets flying over – it was the jets SCREAMING over my apartment as I was sleeping.
I also have been thinking for a while about some thoughts I have had about that time. I remember something about talking with Richard
on the phone while I was working there. But I also remember something about talking to my superior, who was a Navy officer. He was concerned about my level of stress but that is all I can really remember about that.

I may have been investigating defense contractors before my fugue state started in 1998. I remember early on when I was working for Richard
he was trying to get some business with a former Admiral out of Raleigh. I remember the former Admiral wanted to know how junior, he then corrected himself so that he wouldn’t sound arrogant by saying “how senior,” Richard was. I told the MPCSI salesman I worked with that was talking to the Admiral, they must have been on speakerphone, that Richard had been an E-6.

That guy at Microsoft, Tom Devey, who looked like Ilan Ramon, told me he was from Kalispell, Montana. I was familiar with the city because I used to look at that area a lot on the map, as well as Kalispell.
When I first moved out here, I was talking with Laura Mason one Monday morning at work and she asked me what I had done over the weekend, which I think was my first weekend after starting at Microsoft. I told her I went on a road trip and she asked me where I went. She seemed surprised, I assumed because it was so far away, when I replied “Montana.” Maybe I am really from there and she knows it. One time when I was living in that Crossland hotel, I was trying to evade the people stalking me and I rushed out to my Jeep on a whim late one night and drove all the way to Missoula before turning around and heading back. I sensed that the people in Missoula at the gas station knew who I was and was reporting details about me to someone.
