I wonder if I would even recognize Phoebe at this point if she were to walk by me on the sidewalk.
Very clear dream just before I woke up, although I can't remember all of it. I was on a small boat, probably some type of ocean-going fishing boat that is usually non-commercial, and Phoebe was there, although I can't visualize her, so the dream is probably all some kind of fictional about certain events. I don't know what the events are supposed to represent. In the dream, there is some kind of threat developing and I wish I could remember those details. The only part I can remember well, and this is very clear in terms of visualization, is when the hostile aircraft began approaching and I was shooting at them. There were several of us shooting at them and as I review that part, which doesn't visualize will in terms of what kind of equipment we had, it would almost seem to be the gun emplacements on USN ships. I think I remember thinking to myself we didn't have enough guns or good enough guns for the threat we faced. I can visualize an aircraft approaching and I had it lined up in my sights and was firing at it. I don't remember it getting close and I can almost visualize more aircraft like it in the distance, although they never got close enough to identify. There was some kind of large transport aircraft was fairly light black exhaust, that was probably normal exhaust, that did get close enough to identify, but I am not sure what kind of aircraft it was. There were some structures very close to us in the water and I can still visualize those as they were some kind of anti-aircraft gun emplacements that were fired remotely or automatically. Two of them were close enough for me to see very clearly and I can rememember details of one of them. The other was at an angle and I could not see the machinery inside of the structure. I can still visualize the one closest to me firing into the sky and I understand from during the dream that it was firing at our aircraft. I was firing bullets into it, hoping to hit hydraulic lines or something, but was having no effect. Later I would have some kind of grenade launcher and I placed a perfect round into the mechanics of the gun turret and knocked it out, although I can remember that I fired again at least one more time, probably two more times and hit it perfectly. The other one nearby I could not get a good angle on and did not hit it every time although I think I did knock it out. There was some dialog later as another woman said something to Phoebe and then some other details that I don't understand. There are also other details that I don't remember. I find myself wanting to comment about the water, which I think was the ocean, but I cannot think of any comments I want to make.

And then there was the time she broke into my apartment when I was sleeping. That was 91 I think, early on when we were dating. I was still living in Taylors, SC, nearby my job in Greenville. I remember I had been feeling very jumpy back then, I don't know why. I had a good job, I had a nice duplex apartment, it was a nice neighborhood. But I was worried about someone sneaking in while I was asleep. I had the doors rigged to make noise to wake me up. Apparantly she was able to pry the lock on the back door and I woke up with her standing next to me in my bed. The door trap had worked, but all it did was scare her, I didn't hear it because I had drank a lot of beers and passed out drunk.
It was actually after all these experiences that I decided on a better strategy to women. First, I was going to be a lot more selective about who I dated. Before I dated my future ex-wife I had been going out with someone that was a little quirky too, but she was only quirky in some good ways, she didn't break into my house or anything like that. I knew if I had asked her to leave, she would have. So secondly I decided if I am going to hook up with someone that turns out to be quirky, I am going to find someone that I can tolerate such quirkiness. But the real problem here, is even talking about this stuff, because the weirdos will use it, I don't quite know how to explain. If I say that it is ok for one person to break into my house, but that another person cannot break into my house, then a person that I really do not want in my house will then break into my house just to see if I really love her or something like that. It is lunacy. I don't even like thinking about that.

Union, S.C., case prompts children's fears of murdering moms

The confessed killing of two little boys by their mother in Union, S.C., horrified the nation last week.
The incident may also have terrified youngsters across the country.
"Is Mommy going to kill me?" some children reportedly have been asking teachers, nannies, parents and older siblings in the wake of the deaths.
Susan V. Smith, 23, confessed last week to killing her sons, Michael, 3, and Alexander, 14 months, by plunging her car, with the boys still buckled in their safety seats, into a lake.
She reported her boys missing on Oct. 25 and for several days claimed that a carjacker had abducted them. Her televised pleas for their safe return anguished hearts and souls across America and beyond.

Beneath the Planet of the Apes is a 1970 American science fiction film
Following the events of Planet of the Apes, time-displaced astronaut Taylor (Charlton Heston) and the mute Nova (Linda Harrison) are riding on horseback through the desert of the Forbidden Zone. Without warning, fire shoots up from the ground and deep chasms open. Confused by the strange phenomenon, Taylor investigates a cliff wall and disappears before Nova's eyes.
Elsewhere in the Forbidden Zone, a second spaceship has crash landed after being sent to search for Taylor and his crew. Like Taylor's ship, it has traveled into Earth's distant future. However, surviving astronaut Brent (James Franciscus) believes he has traveled to another planet. He encounters Nova and notices she is wearing Taylor's dog tags. Hoping Taylor is still alive, he rides with her to Ape City, where he is shocked to discover the simian civilization. He observes the gorilla General Ursus (James Gregory) leading a rally calling for the apes to conquer the Forbidden Zone and use it as a potential food source, against the objections of the orangutan Dr. Zaius (Maurice Evans). Brent is wounded by a gorilla soldier and taken by Nova to the home of the chimpanzees Cornelius (David Watson) and Zira (Kim Hunter), who treat his wound and tell him of their time with Taylor. The humans hide when Dr. Zaius arrives and announces that he will accompany Ursus on the invasion of the Forbidden Zone.
Attempting to flee the city, Brent and Nova are captured by gorillas. Ursus orders they be used for target practice, but Zira helps them escape. They hide in a cave which Brent soon discovers is the ruins of the Queensboro Plaza station of the New York City Subway, making him realize that he has travelled through time to Earth's post-apocalyptic future. After following a humming sound deeper into the underground tunnels, Brent begins to hear voices telling him to kill Nova. Entering the remains of St. Patrick's Cathedral, he finds a population of telepathic humans who worship an ancient nuclear bomb.
