Lily Sloane: Come on.

Dr. Zefram Cochrane: Good night, Eddie. Go home.

Lily Sloane: You're going to regret this tomorrow.

Dr. Zefram Cochrane: One of the things you should have learned about me by now is that I don't have regrets.

US Marine Corps lieutenant colonel T.C. McQueen: Not enough power left to transmit.

US Marine Corps first lieutenant Cooper Hawkes: I'll bet they heard it.

US Marine Corps lieutenant colonel T.C. McQueen: Not even an A.I. would take that bet, Cooper.

US Marine Corps first lieutenant Cooper Hawkes: We got to find the others.

US Marine Corps lieutenant colonel T.C. McQueen: A.I.'s are networked through their modems. So when you re-initialize them, they give up their home location. Near the end of the A.I. War I was a P.O.W.

US Marine Corps first lieutenant Cooper Hawkes: They do, uh, stuff to you?

US Marine Corps lieutenant colonel T.C. McQueen: It's frightening how much pain an InVitro - a human body can stand. You'd like to believe the body would break before the will. I held out three days. Then - once when they were - doing stuff to me - I heard screaming. Sounded far off, down the hall. I remember thinking "That poor bastard. What must he be going through?" Then when I came to I realized the screams had come from me.

Wikipedia

Drill

A drill or drill motor is a tool fitted with a cutting tool attachment or driving tool attachment, usually a drill bit or driver bit, used for drilling holes in various materials or fastening various materials together with the use of fasteners. The attachment is gripped by a chuck at one end of the drill and rotated while pressed against the target material. The tip, and sometimes edges, of the cutting tool does the work of cutting into the target material. This may be slicing off thin shavings (twist drills or auger bits), grinding off small particles (oil drilling), crushing and removing pieces of the workpiece (SDS masonry drill), countersinking, counterboring, or other operations.

Drills are commonly used in woodworking, metalworking, construction and do-it-yourself projects. Specially designed drills are also used in medicine, space missions and other applications.

THE FATE OF FRANCIS GARY POWERS

Downed U-2 pilot Francis Gary Powers underwent extensive interrogation at the hands of the Soviets. His instructions from the CIA on what to do in event of capture were meager, and he had been told that he might as well tell the Soviets whatever they wanted to know because they could get the information from his aircraft anyway Nevertheless, Powers tried to conceal as much classified information as possible while giving the appearance of cooperating with his captors. To extract the maximum propaganda value from the U-2 Affair, the Soviets prepared an elaborate show trial for Powers, which began on 17 August 1960 Powers continued to conceal as much information as possible, but, on the advice of his Soviet defense counsel, he stated that he was sorry for his actions The Soviet court sentenced him to 10 years' "deprivation of liberty," with the first three to be spent in prison

The Time Machine

It's traveling through time.
To the future, to be exact.
You expect us to believe that?
Certainly.
- You said it hadn't really moved.
- That's correct.
Then why can't we see it?
Because we're in this room
on December ...
...but the model is perhaps
a hundred years away by now.
This house
may not be here in years.
But the time machine occupies
the same space...
...as before its journey.
If it's occupying the same space,
why can't I feel it?
The space you're putting your
hand through is today's space.
You can't put your hand
into tomorrow's space.
Space doesn't change!
The same space that's here
now should be here forever.
No, Philip, time changes space!
This flat ground could've been
at the bottom of the sea long ago.
A million years from now, it could be
the interior of a huge mountain.
If all this is true, what do you
expect to do with such a contraption?
Contraption?
I intend taking a journey
into the future.
Or perhaps the doctor
would volunteer to go?
Well, look here, George...
...suppose you do go off
to the th century...
- ... how will you get back?
- That's a risk I'm ready to take.
Now, look here, George.
I don't know what you think,
but we're not fools!
We're practical businessmen.
What I want to ask you is this:
Even if you had invented
a time machine, what of it?
What's its use? Who'd buy it?
How much would it cost?
Have you thought of the
commercial possibilities?

- They haven't broken the code yet.
- Who? The zombies?

:47:35
- The Borg.
- It sounds Swedish.

:47:44
- How big is this ship?
- 24 decks. 700 metres long.

:47:51
It took me six months to find enough
titanium just to build a cockpit.

:48:02
How much did this thing cost?

:48:05
The economics of the future
are somewhat different.

:48:09
Money doesn't exist
in the 24th century.

:48:14
No money?
You mean you don't get paid?

:48:17
The acquisition of wealth is no

and the rest of humanity.

- It's your telescope.
- That's our ship. The Enterprise.

:38:45
And Lily is up there?
Can I talk to her?

:38:50
We've lost contact with the ship.

:38:54
- So what is it you want me to do?
- Conduct your flight as planned.

:39:00
Why tomorrow morning?

:39:06
At 11 o'clock an alien ship
will be passing this solar system.

:39:11
Alien? You mean extra-terrestrials?

:39:15
- More bad guys?
- Good guys.

:39:18
They have no interest in Earth...
too primitive.

:39:24
When they discover that humans have
learned how to fly faster than light,

:39:31
they alter their course and make
first contact with Earth right here.

:39:36
- Here?
- Actually, over there.

:39:39
It's a pivotal moment in human history.
You make contact with an alien race.

:39:44
After you do,
everything begins to change.

:39:47
Fleets of starships are built
and mankind explores the galaxy.

:39:53
It unites humanity when they realise
they're not alone in the universe.

:40:00
Poverty, disease and war
will all be gone in 50 years.

:40:04
But unless you make that warp flight
tomorrow, none of it will happen.

:40:10
You people are all astronauts...

:40:14
on some kind of star trek.

:40:17
I know this is a lot to take in,
but we're running out of time.
