Director Robert S. Mueller, III has named Valerie Parlave special agent in charge (SAC) of the FBI’s Little Rock Division. Ms. Parlave most recently served as acting SAC of the Washington Field Office’s (WFO) Criminal Division.

Ms. Parlave entered on duty in 1991 and was assigned to the Las Vegas Division after completing training at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. She served as a case agent on violent crime and fugitive investigations until February 1993, when she was assigned to the division’s violent gang and drug squad. In that role, she coordinated two violent gang and drug task forces, led task force investigations, supervised undercover buys, executed felony warrants, conducted wiretap investigations, and acted as an undercover agent.

In August 2000, she was promoted to supervisory special agent in the Criminal Investigative Division at FBI Headquarters, where she developed operational policies and strategic planning. In July 2002, Ms. Parlave was named an assistant inspector in the Office of Inspections to analyze division and field office performance. When she transferred to the Miami Division in December 2003, she supervised a violent gang squad and was promoted to assistant special agent in charge in September 2006.

In July 2008, Ms. Parlave was named section chief of the Employee Development and Selection Program in the Human Resources Division, where she managed employee and leadership development and the promotion process for special agents, intelligence analysts, and the Senior Executive Service. Since March 2010, Ms. Parlave has been the acting SAC for the WFO Criminal Division, where she supervises more than 200 agents and 100 task force officers.

Ms. Parlave graduated from Colgate University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and holds a Juris Doctor degree from Albany Law School. She was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1991.

HOUSTON — Astronauts and cosmonauts watched their ships part and fade into the blackness of space Tuesday in an orbital pirouette that ended five days of flying as a single craft.

"We're just shaking our heads at how quickly this has all gone by," said Charles Precourt, pilot of the U.S. space shuttle Atlantis. "It's as if it were a dream, that we didn't really live it, it happened so fast. . . . But what a great time, what a great effort."


For half an hour, three craft hovered a few hundred feet from one another while hurtling around Earth at 5 miles a second: The Russian Soyuz capsule with two cosmonauts, Atlantis with eight passengers, and the temporarily unmanned Russian space station Mir.

Both crews recorded the historic moment on video and film, but the sun's glare spoiled many of the pictures.

"It's been an inspiring visit with our neighbors in space. We look forward to returning," said NASA's Mission Control.

"We agree with that. . . . We agree 100%," Atlantis' commander, Robert L. (Hoot) Gibson, replied as he backed the shuttle away from the station. "In one of the simulations, the words 'cosmic ballet' came to mind, and I guess that's where we are now."


For nearly 1 1/2 hours, Atlantis flew around Mir for picture-taking, then fired its thrusters 245 miles above South America to move into its own track.

"Bye-bye," Solovyev said softly.

Atlantis launched with seven occupants and is scheduled to land Friday at Florida's Kennedy Space Center

I had another dream about being in the water, but this one doesn't seem as important as that one the other day about the carrier. In this one this morning, it was something about a ship dropping its anchor and leaving it. But I want to say that the anchor was discarded until they realized they needed it. I can't remember a lot of details from that dream. I do remember that I was swimming in the water above where the anchor was dropped. I can still kind of visualize the ship and I'm not really sure if it was a U.S. Navy ship. I also want to say all of this occurred in a port somewhere in China. I also want to say they were using something that looked like the Liberty Bell as the anchor. In the dream, I dived below the surface and I did some kind of back-flip to begin the dive and I was pleased with myself for that maneuver, but as I have written other times, there was some kind of delay.

I ordered the DVD of "The Happening" quite a few weeks ago but I am just now watching it.

I find myself wondering if this movie is why I was seeing that Jeep Wrangler parked over in front of building on the next block towards downtown. The model was the same or very similar to the Jeep Wrangler I used to drive but that Jeep Wrangler in the movie and also the one parked nearby was orange colored while mine was black in color. I wonder about it more because that was the Jeep Wrangler going to the town of Princeton, New Jersey, and the colors of Princeton University are orange and black.

After my memory was suppressed from conscious awareness and I was struggling to regain conscious awareness of my true memory, of who I am and where I am, I imagine that most people who know me, such as my father and my wife, were happy just that I remembered to wear pants or sufficient clothing went I walked outside my apartment. Sometimes I look down just to make certain that I am wearing pants.

I ordered the DVD of "The Happening" quite a few weeks ago but I am just now watching it.

I find myself wondering if this movie is why I was seeing that Jeep Wrangler parked over in front of building on the next block towards downtown. The model was the same or very similar to the Jeep Wrangler I used to drive but that Jeep Wrangler in the movie and also the one parked nearby was orange colored while mine was black in color. I wonder about it more because that was the Jeep Wrangler going to the town of Princeton, New Jersey, and the colors of Princeton University are orange and black.
