Captain Ron (1992)
After seeing that photo I started thinking that I remember being in the search radar workcenter when that photo was taken. As a Fire Controlman I did not specialize in radar technology on the USS Wainwright CG 28 but as all US Navy sailors of the time in the Fire Controlman occupational rating I had been trained in the fundamentals at Great Lakes on technology that is used in all the US Navy combat weapons systems, which includes the search radar and obviously the fire-control radar. My specialization was the guided missile fire-control computers and I was the workcenter supervisor. That was the hardware that computed where a target could be predictably located in the future so one of those giant surface-to-air guided missiles could obliterate it from the sky with the wrath of God and pulverize any other object in its near proximity.
As I have written several times here before I have been thinking that I was on that Flight 232 because I had temporary duty on the US Navy base at Charleston when the ship was out to sea. What if in the year 1998 someone hypnotized me into believing the video on a large screen in front of me, video of person walking through crowds and so on, is my own real memory. So anyway, the way I remember it I had a doctor's appointment in 1989 as a follow up to surgery and I remember working at an office on the shore when the ship was out to sea. Can't recall how long it was gone. Weeks? Days? I don't know. I have also been trying to remember when I went to that Naval Investigative Service office sometime there on the Charleston base. That was sometime after we got back from the Persian Gulf in July 1988 so it could have been any time between then and October 1989. I had that apartment offbase. I have looked at the Google Streetview images of that place several times in recent months. I can still find the apartment building I lived in and I remember such details as where I parked and where my apartment was located. I remember the boyfriend of my roommates mother showed up unexpectedly when she was visiting and I remember one time sitting there in the living room and I was drinking Budweiser bottles of beer and I told him he should cut his losses and "shag ass," suggesting he shut up and get out of my apartment. Later, I started thinking that what he said in response was supposed to be a threat to me. Also, as I try to recall specific details of my invisible memory from 1989 and 1990 I noted today that Julia Robert's first television credit is the same 2/13/1987 premiere of "Mannequin." So people knew the future and what did they do with that information? What are you doing with it. I am telling you specific facts now right here right now. Whose chirping crickets are you to let them slaughter next.

I've got this crazy idea that I wasn't in the Navy, rather I was a pilot, perhaps in the Marines, which is a sub-organization of the Navy. I still don't believe that is true, but those are the ideas that are building in my head. It is consistent with that TNG episode where Picard goes from a glamorous life as the captain of a starship to being a junior-level crewmember. A similar experience in modern terms would be going from being a fighter pilot, a Marine captain perhaps, to being a low-level computer guy. It fits. I still don't believe it, and I'm kinda hoping now that it is true, but I don't know. Just seems too far-fetched. Too good to be true.

I have memories of details about this disaster but I am not certain what is the source of those memories. As I was reading about it again just now, I was wondering if this was an air disaster that has been lingering in my mind for a long time but I am not certain if this is the one. Something has been lingering in my mind about a civilian passenger jet that was similar to the DC-10, or that was a DC-10, where the pilot was pulled from the nose section of the aircraft some time after the crash had occurred and no one had thought to look in that section, which had broken off from the rest of the aircraft. I think he was the only survivor in that section.

To prove that he's worthy of command, Austin volunteers for a dangerous mission: the rescue of a group of US pilots on a Japanese-held island. The ubiquitous William Bendix costars as Frenchy Shapiro (!), Austin's Jewish petty officer and severest critic. If the film has a villain, it is Keenan Wynn as ambitious Lt. Commander Edge, who seems to despise anyone who isn't a mainline WASP.

The Lockheed D-21 is an unmanned or "drone" aircraft designed to carry out high-speed, high-altitude strategic reconnaissance missions over hostile territory. It is a product of the Lockheed "Skunk Works" program that developed the A-12, YF-12A and SR-71 "Blackbird" manned aircraft in the 1960s.
Originally, the D-21 was designed to be launched from the back of a modified A-12 (redesignated M-12) carrier aircraft. The first flight of the D-21/M-12 combination took place on Dec. 22, 1964, but the first D-21 release from an M-12 did not occur until March 5, 1966.

It must have been something similar to when I saved those people from being run over by that speeding car a few years back. That must have been 2002. I was a volunteer at the Danskin triathlon. I puzzled over that for a long time. I just couldn't put my finger on something about that. My mind had been blank but yet I acted with such split-second decisiveness to keep them from getting splattered by that car.

Round six of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship takes place around the streets of Monte Carlo. It’s the shortest, yet most demanding track on the calendar, and the drivers love the challenge of F1’s original street race.
The Monaco Grand Prix was on the inaugural F1 calendar back in 1950 and it’s been a regular fixture since ’55. The layout of the 3.3km circuit has remained largely unchanged, the biggest updates taking place in 2004, when a new pit complex was built.
The track has the slowest average speed of any circuit in F1, but the proximity of the barriers and the lack of run-off make it mentally absorbing for the drivers. Most of the corners are blind and the track surface is often slippery, particularly at the beginning of the race weekend.
McLaren has an enviable record at Monaco, having won the race more than any other constructor. Here’s how the team defined 15 days in the history of the Monaco Grand Prix.
