"Encounter at Farpoint" is the first episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation. It was originally shown on September 28, 1987, and was the first new live-action episode of Star Trek to have been broadcast since 1969.
It the first episode of Star Trek: Next Generation (production #101 and #102), written by D.C. Fontana and Gene Roddenberry, and directed by Corey Allen. It is twice the length of a normal episode, and in repeats is often shown in a re-edited two-part form.
The episode features a famous cameo appearance by DeForest Kelley as 137-year old Doctor (now Admiral) Leonard McCoy. This was the first of three eventual appearances by Original Series cast members on the series; the other two being "Unification I & II" (Leonard Nimoy), and "Relics" (James Doohan). In a way, it was also the start of a tradition that the first episode of each new Star Trek series (set in the 24th century) include an appearance by a prominent character from a previous Star Trek series.
Overview: The new starship Enterprise begins its maiden voyage by uncovering the mysteries of an advanced space station.

Highway Companion is the third solo album by American musician Tom Petty, first released in late July 2006 (see 2006 in music), and charting at #4 on the Billboard 200 album chart. The album was produced by former Traveling Wilburys bandmate Jeff Lynne, who also produced Petty’s highly-acclaimed first solo album, Full Moon Fever. Petty released the album through Rick Rubin's American Recordings label and Warner Bros. The tracks "Saving Grace" and "Big Weekend" were released 4 July 2006 on the iTunes Music Store.
A streaming version of the album was available on numerous websites before its release. The iTunes release of the album contained extras: a live version of "Saving Grace", the video for "Saving Grace" and an interactive media booklet.

Released April 25, 1989
Full Moon Fever is the "solo" debut album by Tom Petty, though it actually features many of the Heartbreakers, along with members of the Traveling Wilburys. Due to this, the album is often referred to as Vol. 2 of the Wilburys. The record shows Petty's musical roots and influences with a Byrds cover ("I'll Feel a Whole Lot Better") and a nod to Del Shannon ("Runnin' Down a Dream"'s lyric of me and Del were singin' "Little Runaway"). The album features one of Petty's most popular and recognizable songs, "Free Fallin'," which has appeared in several film soundtracks, and was sampled by De La Soul, and Teenage Fanclub for their 1994 collaboration "Fallin'". The song "I Won't Back Down" was used as George W. Bush's campaign song in the 2000 Presidential Election, until Petty found out and threatened to sue.
All songs written by Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne, except as indicated.
"Free Fallin'" – 4:14
"I Won't Back Down" – 2:56
"Love Is a Long Road" (Mike Campbell, Petty) – 4:06
"A Face in the Crowd" – 3:58
"Runnin' Down a Dream" (Campbell, Lynne, Petty) – 4:23
The CD version also features "Hello CD Listeners", an interlude distinguishing where LP listeners would have to turn the record over for side two.

"Yer So Bad" – 3:05
"Depending on You" (Petty) – 2:47
"The Apartment Song" (Petty) – 2:31

"Zombie Zoo" – 2:56
The date 7/21/1987 was precisely 18 years after 7/16/1969. I have been thinking that is the day our friends and family recognize as when Phoebe and I got married, although Phoebe and I had been married for years before that.
I was probably still in pretty bad shape on 7/21/1987, as I had only returned from Africa, along with surviving the attack on the Stark, about 2 months earlier. I have these thoughts that I could barely stand up there at that wedding ceremony on 7/21/1987 and that I actually fell down at one point. Someone might have commented that I must have drank too much the night before. I also have thoughts that Phoebe and I had another photo shoot in our wedding garments about 6 months later after I had regained more weight and had more time to recover from surviving in the African wilderness for over a year with a wounded leg that got worse over time.
I wonder a lot about who all was there at that ceremony and if there some kind of separate viewing area so that one crowd couldn't see the other group. I was wearing the white ceremonial USN uniform as I was still a Lieutenant and Phoebe looked beyond stunning in her white wedding dress. Maybe that wedding chapel we were in had a balcony and there was another group in the balcony that the other people didn't know about. There are probably other details out there somewhere that point to that time, other than what I have noted already. This is most likely one of them and one I haven't figured out yet. This notion of distinquishing from the first album is because Phoebe and I were already married before 1987.

In 1993, the band Duran Duran released a second self-titled album -- this Duran Duran album is informally known as The Wedding Album (for Stephen Sprouse's cover art which features the four band members' parents' actual wedding photos) to distinguish it from the band's debut 1981 release.

According to the Nibblonians, their race is ancient and powerful, because when the universe was formed with the Big Bang, their race was already 17 years old
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_recurring_non-human%2C_non-robot_characters_from_Futurama#Nibblonians
The Nibblonians are a powerful yet adorable race from the Planet Eternium, which is located in the center of the universe. According to them, their race is ancient and powerful, having come into existence 17 years before the rest of the universe (how is unknown); as a result they are probably the most advanced race in the universe but the most advanced demonstration of their tecnology was the Quantum Interface Bomb which imploded the Brainspawn's Infosphere into another dimension. It has also been shown that the Nibblonians know the meaning of life when Leela, after talking with Nibbler through a mental link, states "Then the meaning of life is!" Nibbler nods. Leela then continues "...then every religion is wrong". In the episode "The Why of Fry", it is revealed that Nibblonians have very long life spans, in excess of 1000 years, but don't have the ability to time travel or at least not in 1999.
Nibblonians eating habits are often considered disgusting by many that observe them, and somehow have a stomach capacity many thousands of times the size of their own bodies. They have been seen to eat whole live animals, and drink an entire swimming pool's worth of water. In the episode "Love's Labours Lost in Space" it's implied that a single Nibblonian ate two of every species of the planet Vergon 6. In the case of Nibbler, his strange eating habits may account for the fact that he excretes dark matter, which is extremely dense (according to Professor Farnsworth, "one pound weighs over ten-thousand pounds") and according to Fry, one sphere made by Nibbler weighs as much as 1,000 suns. It's unknown if all Nibblonians have this trait, although it is implied when Nibbler states "we live long and are celebrated poopers". According to almost everyone else who encounters them, they are excessively cute, a fact which they find annoying.
Their arch-enemy are the Brainspawn. They believe Fry is the only hope of the universe in that he can stop the Brainspawn due to his lack of the Delta brainwave.
Fiona
(Voiced by Tress MacNeille) Fiona is the main female Nibblonian. She is never seen without her orange bow on her eyestalk. Both Ken and Fiona believe the Dave Matthews Band doesn't rock. She believes that the Nibblonians are a fierce species, and rejects any claims of the Nibblonians being too cute by calling Nibbler "aww niggle-snoosh". She also behaves like a cat when content, purring and rhythmically pawing.
Ken
(Voiced by Billy West) Ken is one of the two main male Nibblonians. His main difference in appearance with Nibbler is that he has a slightly larger head. Ken's official tunic also sports triple epaulets (like Fiona's), in contrast to the double epaulets on Nibbler's seldom-shown Nibblonian uniform. Ken refers to Earth as the "homeworld of the pizza bagel", enjoys being petted, and sometimes expresses the fretful concern that the Nibblonians might in fact be cute.

An evil race of flying telepathic brains that came into existence one millisecond after the Big Bang. Their main enemies are the Nibblonians. Their eons-long goal is to destroy all other intelligent life, since the thoughts of other beings "screech at them like the forced laughs of a billion art-house movie patrons." Their method of operation is to swarm a planet, using their "stupefaction fields" to render all inhabitants too stupid to resist. This leaves them free to take the planet's collected knowledge, after which they destroy it. The Brainspawn's leader personally killed Earth's dinosaurs.
Fry is uniquely immune to the effect (due to becoming his own grandfather in the episode "Roswell That Ends Well", thus meaning he doesn't have the Delta Brainwave which the Brainspawn attack), and manages to drive them from Earth ("The Day the Earth Stood Stupid"). No one affected by the Brainspawn's stupefaction field remembers these events, and Fry is unable to convince anyone what has happened.

Memorable quotes for
Under Siege (1992)
Admiral Bates: This is Admiral Bates speaking. I am trying to get a hold of Chief Ryback. Is he about?
Jordan Tate: He's in a gunfight right now. I'm gonna have to take a message.
Admiral Bates: Now, since your ass is on the line, sailor, I authorize you right now, to do whatever you can to aid in the arrival of the SEAL Team. Because if I goddamn can't control you, I might as well support you. Correct?
Casey Ryback: That's affirmative, Sir!
