I was looking at this a while back and I think I now have fully decoded what I was trying to express here, in connection with my wife. I do not recall ever seeing this movie, but if I have this all figured out correctly, then it is quite clever, if I do say so myself. The date 7/21/1969 is when the Apollo 11 astronauts first walked on the Earth's moon.

I haven't seen this movie, that I can remember, but what I read in these pages, it seems the character named "Buzz" was trying to steal the woman that my wife portrays. I probably created this detail so I could point back to it someday when I told her the full story about my youth in the space program. The characters "Chip" and "Buzz" both represent me but there was a lot she didn't know about me, perhaps.

The day 6/7/1976 is the date I recognize as when I arrived at the Saturn moon Phoebe. The single track “Rio” from Duran Duran released 334 weeks after 6/7/1976. At that time in 1982, I would have been out in the U.S. Navy fleet flying the F-14 Tomcat, where the person in the backseat of that aircraft was called the R.I.O., or Radar Intercept Officer. There is probably some kind of inside joke between us that she was my RIO when I was home. Something like that. Something about how I thought of her.

Phoebe Cates starred in a movie in 1987 titled, “Date With An Angel.” The movie premiered on a Friday, as most movies do, and the previous day, a Thursday, was 359 days after 11/25/1986, the day I recognize as when my family had a funeral for me because I had been missing for a long time in Africa. By the time that movie came out though, I had already made it back home and my family and friends knew I was alive.

This is the actor who portrayed “Jim Sanders,” who was marrying “Patty Winston,“ the character Phoebe Cates portrayed, until the angel showed up, or something like that.

DURAN DURAN LYRICS

"New Moon On Monday"

Shake up the picture the lizard mixture
With your dance on the eventide
You got me coming up with answers
All of which I deny
I said it again
Could I please rephrase it
Maybe I can catch a ride
I couldn't really put it much plainer
But I'll wait till you decide
Send me your warning siren
As if I could ever hide
Last time La Luna

[CHORUS]

I light my torch and wave it for the
New moon on Monday
And a firedance through the night
I stayed the cold day with a lonely satellite

Breaking away with the best of both worlds
A smile that you can't disguise
Every minute I keep finding
Clues that you leave behind
Save me from these reminders
As if I'd forget tonight
This time La Luna
[CHORUS]
