Back in the year 2003 I wrote a letter on my computer at home and I printed it out on to paper and I put that letter in a stamped envelope for the postal service and I sent that letter through the United States Postal Service. I had the envelope of the letter addressed specifically to the Chief of Operations United States Navy and I referenced a special projects branch I had found on the internet.

I wrote about a computer program I created for the guided missile computer complex system that would transfer memory from one of the computers to the other when we were in the Persian Gulf in 1988. We had two identical systems in place. They were twins you could say. The transfer of code was problematic and the solution was not obvious.

I mailed the letter to the Chief of Operations United States Navy and told them I should have received the Silver Star.

Such Naval nuclear reactors have a complete power plant associated with them. All US Navy submarines and supercarriers built for the past couple of decades are nuclear-powered by such reactors. There are no commissioned conventional (non-nuclear) submarines or aircraft carriers left in the US Navy, since the last conventional carrier, USS Kitty Hawk, was decommissioned in May 2009. The US Navy had nine nuclear-powered cruisers with such reactors also, but they have since been decommissioned.

Baltar: Well, I can only theorize that it takes a while for the storm's effects to become readily apparent on Cylon physiology. By the time you'd encountered Leoben, he'd been here for several hours.

Doral: I don't suppose it matters to you that I am *not* a Cylon.

Tigh: Smartest thing you could do right now would be to shut your mouth. (to Baltar) Are you sure?

Baltar: One can never be a hundred percent sure. But the evidence, the evidence seems conclusive. Basically, basically all I did was, I expanded on, on your doctor's analysis of Leoben's corpse. I then went around the CIC discreetly taking random hair samples of people who've been working there, subjected that to a special form of spectrum analysis that I've been experimenting on for quite some time now. I then wrote a clinical computer subroutine to screen that for synthetic chemical combinations. Uh, his ones, his samples were the only samples to register as synthetic. As you can see...

Tigh: I'll take your word for it.

Six: And just like that, Dr. Baltar invents the amazing Cylon detector.

Doral: Look, gentlemen, I understand your concerns here. This is a very difficult situation, but I think you need to take a step back, take a deep breath, and really look at what you're doing here.

Tigh: I want everyone aboard this ship screened. No exceptions.

Baltar: I promise.

Doral: (He stands up, the guards point their guns at him.) Whoa, whoa, whoa. I don't know about anybody else, but I can tell you that I'm human. I'm, I'm from Oasis, you know it? Baltar: Oh, by the way, I don't know if this is important - might be important, might not be important - but earlier, when I was on the CIC, I noticed that Mr. Doral seemed to be doing, umm, well, I'm not exactly sure what it was that he was doing, but he seemed very interested in this odd-looking device on the battam - bottom of the DRADIS console.

Doral: What are you - What?

Baltar: (nodding) Yep.

Six: We should really make a copy of your brain patterns at some point.

Doral: What device? What are you talking about? He's lying, he is frakking lying.

Tigh: (on the phone) Combat, this is Tigh. Isolate the DRADIS console -

First Flight

On August 1, 1907, the U.S. Army Signal Corps established an Aeronautical Division to "take charge of all matters pertaining to military ballooning, air machines, and all kindred subjects.'

Shortly thereafter, bids were placed for flying machines, and officers detailed to the Signal Corps for instruction in operating the same.

Only one bidder successfully produced a plane: The Wright Brothers. In 1908, while demonstrating this plane, it crashed and severely injured Orville Wright, pilot, and killed Lieutenant Selfridge, passenger. Selfridge, who had previously soloed on his own in a civilian craft, was the first military aviation casualty. The plane would be rebuilt and resubmitted.

"Aeroplane No. 1, Heavier-than-Air Division, US Aerial Fleet" was officially accepted by the US Army on August 2, 1909.

I don't remember when I first read this. But it sure resonates with me. It is even ironic the part about May. If I'm not mistaken, it was May 31 when I gave up my apartment. I want to sit down and try to write out as much of a timeline after that as possible, but I can't remember a lot of the details, although I knew all along that my tormentors knew exactly what I was doing and where I was located every minute of every one of those days. And so in this message below, he is talking basically about how people can talk about being your friend, but it is when the world throws you down into some really dark place, it is your friends that are going to be there with you. And I remember those first 9 days I was starving and I couldn't believe not only were they still oppressing me with their cage, but that no one even attempted to leave any food on my doorstep or something like that.

The defense begged them to look into their hearts and, through that softer focus, find a disturbed, childlike figure who, after a lifetime of sadness, snapped like a dry twig.

As simplistic as those opposing views might seem, they will be the crux of the next month of testimony in Smith's capital murder trial, which officially began Tuesday with opening statements in the elegant old Union County Courthouse.

"For nine days in the fall of 1994, Susan Smith looked this country in the eyes and lied," said Keith Giese, a special prosecutor and assistant to the state's prosecutor, Tommy Pope. "She begged God to return her children to safety, and the whole time she knew her children were lying dead at the bottom of John D. Long Lake.

I remember well that day 2/1/2002. I was riding my bicycle from Bellevue, Washington, along the regular route I followed to the office I worked at in the Microsoft building in Issaquah, Washington. I was crossing a small bridge next to the Costco building in Issaquah and within sight of the Microsoft building when my bicycle literally flipped end-over-end and I went face first into the concrete sidewalk. I was left sprawled out on my back on the sidewalk among the wooded area of that bridge and dazed for a few minutes. I got up after a few minutes and rode my bicycle the remaining mile or so to the office and noticed a short time later that I had a black eye forming from where my left eye brow seemed to have hit the concrete just before my helmet absorbed the rest of the impact which was painful in itself to my head. I would later think that someone had caused that accident to happen and that it was something similar to that scene in the 1963 film "The Great Escape" where Steve McQueen stretches the thin wire across the road to knock the German soldier off his motorcycle.

I remember when this miniseries premiered on television in December 2003. I was stressed out about people following me but I enjoyed my work as an Application Development Consultant in Microsoft Premier Support. I had a very interesting project going on around that time that I hoped would lead to a job in the Visual Basic product team and I was using Microsoft.Net with Visual Basic to convert Microsoft Word documents to a different format. The customer had a lot of files to convert and there was a lot of detail associated with my efforts to automate the conversion process. The software I crafted would convert as a batch the documents and would not require users to do any manual conversions, which was a feature the customer requested.

I cannot recall if I finished that project. I was also concerned that Microsoft was going to become the next Enron and that was because I could easily cite examples of multi-million dollars of customer fraud that Microsoft would be blamed for. Across hundreds and hundreds of customers of Microsoft just in my division alone - a division marketing claimed would save those customers money by paying more for our services - the customers were being fraudulently charged in the millions.

Sure, sure, Robert McKenna is all over that. Jay Inslee is screaming every day at Bill Gates to shape up and do right by all the people Microsft Al-Qaida screwed over because of their greed and because of the perverts that run free anywhere they want to inside Microsoft Corporation.
