1. Purpose. To provide guidance and regulations concerning awards available for recognizing individuals and units in the Naval Service.

2. Navy Cross

a. Authorization. 10 U.S.C. S6242.

b. Eligibility Requirements

(1) Awarded to individuals who, while serving in any capacity with the Navy or Marine Corps, distinguish themselves by extraordinary heroism, not justifying the award of the Medal of Honor.

(a) While engaged in an action against an enemy of the United States;

(b) While engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing foreign force; or

(c) While serving with friendly foreign forces engaged in an armed conflict against an opposing armed force, in which the United States is not a belligerent party.

(2) To warrant this distinctive decoration, the act or execution of duty must be performed in the presence of great danger, or at great personal risk, and must be performed in such a manner as to set individuals apart from their shipmates or fellow Marines. An accumulation of minor acts of heroism normally does not justify the award. The high standards SECNAVINST 1650.1H demanded must be borne in mind when recommending the award.

Of course. That must be it. The calculator buttons I was pressing my dream while asleep.

The reason this notion, gained only in the past few minutes of reading that text, because I had been working on it earlier today, but had only just read that specific dialog, is compelling is because I don't consider myself intelligent enough to correlate such details.

I was aware of the Enigma machine and I had read about it several times but such a relevant association that I would see myself doing in a dream while sleeping seems very improbable to me. As I wrote on January 16, 2013 3:06 PM I had seen myself pressing buttons on a calculator and then on a cash register and the displays were confusing me because it kept printing out different numbers for the same key.

The details I find are consistent though with the notion that people out there - very evil people - Microsoft Corbis Bill Gates al Qaida - believe I am capable of producing such results.

If I was still making new posts on my public blog, which I still have administrative control over, then I would just publish these details there instead of flooding your email about a topic that you should be aware of but that you can't do much about, that nobody can do anything about, other than watching the evil perp.'s commit suicide on their own.

There is also a certain logic about how my messages take on a higher status among those evil perp.'s because I am producing highly compelling observations and documenting those observations in private communications.

God, I am bored beyond belief with this work.

I still can't believe how bored I am with this stuff.

Only really in recent days have I started to really question what the hell it is I am doing here. I have gained a new sense about why I am here doing this stuff. I can't articulate what I want to say. I start to write about how it seems pointless but that isn't accurate about how I am now feeling. I just wonder why I am not doing something else, anything else. I've been working on this crap for so long that was the only certainty I had in my life for so long.

Memorable quotes for

Enigma (2001)

Tom Jericho: It weighs twenty-six pounds, battery included, and goes anywhere. The Enigma machine - the Germans have thousands of them.

Hammerbeck: What's it do?

Tom Jericho: It turns plain-text messages into gobbledygook. Then the gobbledygook is transmitted in Morse. At the other end is another Enigma machine, which translates the message back to the original text.
Hammerbeck: And you have one of your own.

Logie: Uh, courtesy of the Polish Cipher Bureau.

Hammerbeck: So what's the problem?

Tom Jericho: The problem? The problem is the machine has a hundred and fifty million, million, million ways of doing it, according to how you set these three rotors, and how you connect these plugs. Press the same key any number of times, it'll always come out different.

"In policy."

Meanwhile, in other news.

I wonder what is the year of her actual birth. Every time I see a photo of Beyonce, she reminds me of a woman I "remember" working with back in 1994 and 1995. That woman, in turn, always reminds me of the "Vanessa Damphousse" character from the 24 September 1995 television series "Space: Above and Beyond." First Union. That was the name of that bank. Today as I was thinking about all this that was one of the very few times I have been able to recall the name of that bank in Charlotte North Carolina. That woman I "remember" working with in that bank in Charlotte North Carolina told me one time that her son is also named Kerry. She told me that his father was in prison. My immediate response was "What'd he do?" Judging by her minute facial expression and the fact that she never did respond to my question I would later start thinking that my question had been inappropriate.

I did not see this film when it premiered in the theatre but I remember that timeframe because Sharon B. mentioned it in my presence one day at the Microsoft office where we worked. When I did watch it sometime later on television I specifically remember thinking how great Beyonce was as I watched this film.

Benedict Cumberbatch in line to play Alan Turing in The Imitation Game

Sherlock star in talks to play tragic wartime codebreaker in Hollywood biopic

Ben Child

guardian.co.uk, Monday 4 February 2013 06.57 EST

Benedict Cumberbatch is in talks to play the British mathematician and codebreaker Alan Turing in forthcoming biopic The Imitation Game, reports Deadline.

The Sherlock star may step into the shoes of Leonardo DiCaprio, who was frontrunner to play Turing when the film was announced in 2011. The project has the ring of Oscar bait: it is based on a script by first-time screenwriter Graham Moore, which was bought by Warner Bros for a seven-figure sum after making 2011's Black List of the most popular unfilmed screenplays in Hollywood.

Turing was a wartime hero credited with cracking the German Enigma code at Britain's Bletchley Park codebreaking centre, but his life was destroyed by the period's anti-homosexuality laws. Police arrested Turing in 1952 after learning of his sexual relationship with a young Manchester man. He made no denial or defence during his trial and, rather than go to prison, accepted injections of synthetic oestrogen intended to neutralise his libido.

Turing continued to work part-time for GCHQ, the postwar successor to Bletchley Park, but his mental health is said to have suffered, and he was shut out of Britain's security operations as the country's alliance with the US increased over fears of cold war spying. He was found dead by his cleaner in 1954. The coroner's verdict was suicide, though Turing's mother believed he had accidentally ingested cyanide after a chemistry experiment. In 2009 Gordon Brown made a public apology on behalf of the British government for the way Turing was treated.

Cumberbatch is flying high in Hollywood after securing roles as the main villain in Star Trek into Darkness and as the dragon Smaug in Peter Jackson's Hobbit trilogy. He will also play Julian Assange in The Fifth Estate, a film about the WikiLeaks founder's early struggles, and is set for roles in Steve McQueen's highly anticipated Twelve Years a Slave and the film adaptation of Tracy Letts's Pulitzer prize-winning play August: Osage County.

Turing was excised entirely from the best-known recent film about Bletchley Park, 2001's Enigma. Michael Apted's film cast Dougray Scott as Tom Jericho, a character who seemed to have all the qualities of Turing, bar one vital fact: he was not homosexual and romances Kate Winslet's character.

Dr. Daniel Jackson: Well, the translation of the inner track is wrong. Must have used Budge. I don't know why they keep reprinting his books.

Gary Meyers, Ph.D.: Excuse me. Uh - what - what are you doing? We've - we've used every know technique.

Dr. Daniel Jackson: That's a curious word to use, eh? "Gebeh."

Dr. Daniel Jackson: Than an adverbial - "Sedjem-en-ef." Then "sealed" and "buried."

Gary Meyers, Ph.D.: Excuse me! What are - what are you doing?

Dr. Daniel Jackson: It's not "coffin." "For all time." Who the hell translated this?

Gary Meyers, Ph.D.: Uh, I - I did.

Dr. Daniel Jackson: Well, this should read, "A million years into the sky is Ra, Sun God, sealed and buried for all time." It's not "door to heaven." Is "stargate."

Anyway, okay, we're obviously looking at a picture of the cover stones. Now, on the outer track, these figures that you would believe to be words to be translated were, in fact - sorry about that. Were in fact, star constellations. Now, these constellations were placed in a unique order forming a map or an address of sorts. Seven points to outline a course to a position and, uh, to find a destination within any three-dimensional space, we need six points to determine an exact location.

Night before last I think it was, I know it was recently, I had a dream where I saw myself working at Mills Store in Wilton Arkansas.

I don't think I have ever dreamed of that place.

I was standing behind the counter and a customer walked up to the counter. Donald Mills was there too.

There is something about that guy who was the customer but I have never been able to figure out what since waking from that dream.

I was trying to quickly work out the amount of change back he should get from his purchase but I couldn't get the calculator to work. I pressed the numbers and it was displaying the wrong numbers. I asked Donald Mills what was wrong with it. The cash register wouldn't work correctly either. Sometime later, possibly after waking up, I thought to myself that calculating the difference mentally shouldn't have been too hard. The number was large but it still should have been fairly easy to calculate in my mind if I had put some thought into it.

Mother do you think they'll drop the bomb
Mother do you think they'll like the song
Mother do you think they'll try to break my balls
Ooooh aah, Mother should I build a wall
Mother should I run for president
Mother should I trust the government
Mother will they put me in the firing line
Ooooh aah, is it just a waste of time
Hush now baby, baby don't you cry
Mama's gonna make all of your

Mama's gonna put all of her fears into you
Mama's gonna keep you right here
Under her wing
she won't let you fly but she might let you sing
Mama will keep baby cosy and warm
Ooooh Babe Ooooh Babe Ooooh Babe
Of course Mama's gonna help build the wall

Mother do think she's good enough for me
Mother do think she's dangerous to me
Mother will she tear your little boy apart
Oooh aah, mother will she break my heart
Hush now baby, baby don't you cry
Mama's gonna check out all your girl friends for you
Mama won't let anyone dirty get through
Mama's gonna wait up till you get in
Mama will always find out where
You've been
Mamma's gonna keep baby healthy and clean
Ooooh Babe Ooooh Babe Ooooh Babe
You'll always be a baby to me
Mother, did it need to be so high.
