So here's the big question: In Ashdown you haven't had a gunfire incident in thirty years and the US FBI chooses *that day* to get in a shootout while serving an arrest warrant.
What are the odds?
I am still not what you would consider a reliable witness at this point, especially considering I don't even have the official government records that prove my activities are consistent with what I report, but I feel certain the guy who I exchanged gunfire with in Asheville North Carolina on 19 January 1993 was African-American.
I don't know how well my memory would be now if I hadn't gone to the police in the City of Kent Washington State and filed the police report that led me to being secretly drugged at the hospital they took me to. I was cooperating because I was the one going to them for help and I was only expecting to talk and the possibility they would drug me was probably the farthest notion from my mind. I was drugged up by the various hospitals they sent me from a long while after that.
Somebody out there, aside from the bad guys, has the documents that prove my activities. They could declassify it all today but there is really a larger problem here. For one thing, I am not on vacation. I am doing my job. I have a mission to complete. So for those other people with my documentation they have to know I have met the objectives I am here to complete and many of those objectives are even known to my conscious mind. I have to figure it out. Then they will release the documentation. I don't even have a military identification card. I certainly don't have a badge. I don't even know where to find those items.
So anyway, I am not planning on publishing this particular report on my world-wide internet blog but some day I might send it in to the inspector general of the United States Department of Justice with some other information that I have thought about formally documenting. Whether I ever send them another report or not I have no idea at this point. I am not really certain what I am going to do. Nothing has changed.
They are going to just keep killing people - massacring people - no matter what I do.

My return in 1998 was different though. I returned but I am a composite version of Tom Reagan and Kerry Burgess. I am not as tall as Tom Reagan and I am as tall as Kerry Burgess but I do not have the physical scars of Kerry Burgess, such as the gunshot wound scar he had on his shoulder.

Maybe that is the reason for the "memory" about the shifting rod linkage problem - because I had to land my F-16 in Iraq after the first Osirak strike. In that "memory," I was on my way to pick up Lesa Jewell when we were in the 11th grade and we were going to the Senior prom. I think anything of these details associated with the 11th grade actually represent the events I was actually involved in around the end of my 3rd year at the U.S. Naval Academy.

A clock radio informs us that it's 7:12 as the phone rings. Tracy, in a black party dress, answers and says hello to the governor with great familiarity. He tells her to turn on the TV. She does and sees Nathan is being interviewed about his rapid rise in the Senate and how, as chairman of the senate committee on Homeland Security, he's become quite close with the president. Tracy tells the governor that Nathan is ancient history and she hasn't spoken to him in two months. She hangs up, drops her dress and notices an open window -- all while Nathan continues to deflect questions about citizen privacy issues on TV and classified matters that pose a threat to the American people -- and goes to lock it.
The interviewer asks why Nathan, "Why now?" Nathan says it's classified. Nathan says he's devoted his life to protecting people. Armed men invade Tracy's home. She tries to freeze one but can't. On the TV the interviewer asks if Nathan's religious conversion still stands. He says yes, now more than ever. Tracy tells the men she refuses to beg for her life. A man she seems to recognize -- even though they're all wearing ski masks -- shoots her with some kind of tranquilizer gun. He pulls off the mask. ASHDOWN, AR (KSLA) - A late afternoon standoff in Little River County ended tragically when a suspect reportedly took his own life, but not before an exchange of gunfire with police. "They came down this way, the shots came right behind the house, we knew it was behind the house", said neighbor, Dennis Scott. Shots came from the end of a long driveway off U.S. Highway 71 just north of Ashdown, AR. Local police along with FBI agents went to the area to serve a federal warrant on 31 year old Jeremy Reed, when officers arrived things took a turn for the worse. "This gentleman had run from one house to a trailer house which was very close to each other, as he was running he had a knife he dropped on the ground and he had a shot gun and was pointing it at the officers, the FBI agent fired twice from his weapon and the city officer fired twice from a shotgun", said Little River Sheriff, Danny Russell. Police believe Reed was slightly wounded from a gunshot to the wrist. Sheriff Russell said Reed, still armed with the shotgun fired into the door of the trailer and managed to get inside. After negotiating with him for a short time another gunshot could be heard from inside the trailer. "The FBI agent was able to approach that room and get the door open and look in and found he had shot himself", said Sheriff Russell. The Arkansas State Police has been called in to investigate the officers involvement in the gun battle. This is the first officer involved shooting in Ashdown in more than 30 years. The Ashdown officer has been put on administrative leave. "We don't feel like there was any misconduct or any wrong doing on his part, its just standard procedure", said Lt. Bobby Walraven with the Ashdown Police Department. "Anything can happen just right here in Ashdown, you never know," says Scott.
Agents went to the home to serve a warrant for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

According to a criminal Complaint unsealed today, on or about February 12, 2004, Microsoft learned that significant portions of the source code for both Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000 – which Microsoft considers the "crown jewels" of the company – were misappropriated (the "Stolen Source Code") and unlawfully released onto, and distributed over, the Internet without its authorization. That same day, according to the Complaint, GENOVESE posted a message on his Web site, "illmob.org," which announced that he had obtained a copy of the Stolen Source Code and was offering it for sale.

Microsoft Marshal -- The Man Considered No. 2 Behind Gates Hopes For Order In Windows-Os/2 Battle

He once was Microsoft's Mr. Windows. Then he was Microsoft's Mr. OS/2.
When the war between Windows' latest version, 3.1, and IBM's newly revamped OS/2 2.0 sounds its next volley at the Comdex/Spring computer trade show tomorrow in Chicago, Steve Ballmer knows where his allegiances will be:
"Microsoft has an operating system strategy to establish Windows very pervasively on the desktop," said the man generally considered No. 2 in the Microsoft hierarchy behind Chairman Bill Gates. "I don't have any historical or emotional feelings that impact my blind dedication to our customers and our strategy."
Just over a year ago, that strategy included OS/2, an advanced operating system for personal computers that, for the previous four years, had been co-developed by Microsoft and IBM. No one was more closely identified with OS/2 than Microsoft's beefy then-systems chief, known for thumping his fist and repeating "OS/2, OS/2, OS/2" when making a point about the future of desktop computing.
Ballmer also supported Windows, the Microsoft operating environment that uses pictures in addition to text to represent files and commands, and a mouse to execute various tasks. But OS/2 was the wave of the future, he emphasized.
Then IBM, in a climactic meeting at Microsoft headquarters in March 1991, disclosed a new strategy to fold Windows into OS/2, giving the latter more prominence and momentum in the marketplace as well as undercutting Microsoft's cash cow, MS-DOS.
"I said, `It won't work!' " Ballmer recalled. To prove he meant it, he promised to eat a floppy diskette if IBM succeeded by the end of the year.
"I think I actually said some other things, too, about what I'd do, like crawl around on my hands and knees naked or something," Ballmer recalled. The point was, "It was a bad technical strategy."
For Ballmer, who wound up not having to eat the diskette, those events marked the final, sour closure to an 11-year relationship perhaps unparalleled in U.S. business in terms of two industry superpowers working together. Not long after, Microsoft's version of OS/2, until then dubbed 3.0, was renamed - to Windows NT, for New Technology.

I started thinking this morning about a jacket I used to wear long ago. I bought it around the time Lynn and I started bicycling, which I think was in 1999. I wore that jacket every time I went cycling and some parts of it were green and other parts blue. I remember one time, after I had been wearing it for a long time, I noticed that the logo emblem on one side of the chest was labeled as “Brooks.” I can remember feeling something like surprise that it was labeled “Brooks.”
